Laramie Regional Airport - LAR

Small airport. Tsa took way too long. The xray machine wasn't working which required tsa to do excessive screening on all belongings and pull everything out. Super inconvenient. I'd rather do the drive to Denver and go through tsa there. Worst airport experience ever.

This is half in response to Lorraine Barrows. The check-in cutoff time is a policy that all airlines have. The airport cannot control airline policies, the weather, or airline maintenance. This is a review of the airport, not an airline or the weather gods. I am a private pilot and have flown in here multiple times. It is in a beautiful location, has a clean FBO, and the staff are very friendly. The flight from any airport along the front range is beautiful, especially around sunset.

Small small airport, but the TSA staff, ground crew, United crew, and the Hertz staff was accommodating and helpful. I was running late, but had checked in for my boarding pass and payed for a luggage check in the night before at my hotel(and I am glad I did). The TSA staff got me through security as quick as possible following all their safety rules, scanned all my bags (even my check in bag because the United staff behind the counter had already closed) and got everything on the plane. My checked bag was properly scanned and placed underneath as what I paid for. I do appreciate all TSA staff and I understand they have a job to do to keep everyone safe and I was happy everything went smoothly so I was able to make my flight and my connecting flight in Denver. I can't wait to visit this airport and the city of Laramie again. And I will be sure to arrive 30 minutes early before boarding. Someone did say there isn't any food while you wait. I would be nice if they had a vending machine for coffee or even those small pay per Keurig machines and a small vending machine for food items. I will say there are those little small food machines for nuts or jelly beans, but no one wants to eat that at 5 am in the morning. On the flip side, the flight is only 22 minutes (plus 30 minutes of ground deicing prepping) to Denver (in my case) and most cases your layover is 2 hours, so you have plenty of food options there so I can't really complain much. Its funny how only the people that will gripe about getting hung with a new rope post here, no its not Denver, thank goodness, its not even Cheyenne, its a great little airport like so many in Wyoming, I have flown in and out of most of them and never had a bad experience, sure once a flight out of Cody was cancelled, but they put me on another one in an hour, rerouted me and got me to Laredo 2 hours ahead of schedule, all at no cost, do that at a big airport. Places like this are what makes Laramie and all of Wyoming special, wish they could get the cost down, but I understand with fewer flights, it has to be made up somewhere.

The worst airport ever. The past eight times I have flown from there my flight was delayed by hours, or canceled. I have never made it back to Laramie on a return flight. I have had to get a very late flight to Cheyenne. This morning the woman at the desk would not check me in because I was there at 29 minutes before my flight instead of 30. The passengers were not through security until 3 minutes before the plane took off. I suggest to AVOID this airport at all costs. Negative number of stars but will not let me post without adding a star.
