I've been to this bakery a couple of times. I usually order a sandwich. Its a little expensive but very delicious. You pick your bun and choose the topping. I tried the veal one. The cashier was friendly.

A few years ago we ate at Joia and couldn't get enough of their bread. We later found out that Roberto's supplied their bread and Roberto's has since become our go to bakery. The place is low key and not a lot of choices but if you like focaccia this is the place to go. However, the best time to go is first thing in the morning when the bread come out of the oven. My experiences visiting them in the afternoon, after the place has been pillaged by customers, is disappointing.

Please note negative reviews of anyone are not a priority however my experience is a must share and a caution to any potential new customers. My wife and I stopped in today for the first time. We ordered 2 sandwiches. When we ordered the sandwiches we were told that the sandwich comes with 3 slices of meat and cheese for 6.50 and that each additional slice of meat would be $1 per slice. Considering turkey breast was posted on the chalk board for 2.50/100grams we thought this was odd but proceeded anyway. We ordered the following 1. turkey and provolone 2. my husband gave the liberty to the owner to make him a sandwich of his choosing and let him know if he made us a good sandwich we'd be back. We, being food advocates as well as entrepreneurs assumed he would prepare a real good old italian sandwich. While the owner was making my husband's sandwich which included 3 pieces of salami and mustard we looked at each other in disbelief that this was what he was going to provide us, we asked if he was going to add cheese where he rolled his eyes and said yes. We also bought a focaccia and asked it to be sliced, the lady asked if we really wanted it sliced and made it seem like it was an inconvenience for them to do that for us. We proceed to pay which we did by cash. The cashier (who is also an owner) rounded our __.91 total to .95 and when we were shorted our change and asked for it she rolled her eyes and said she always rounds up (in her favour). It was at this point that we decided it was a bizarre experience and that they are extremely cheap and we'd never return. When we got home and I wanted to enjoy my sandwich we discovered our turkey sandwich was missing the turkey. We returned to the bakery and told them about it we were greeted with rolling eyes. We had to wait 15 minutes while they served 3 other customers that came in after us for the turkey. The lady/nonna/owner then tried to charge us for the 3 slices of turkey. Bottom line, this place is cheap, unwelcoming, service sucks and I would highly highly highly recommend any other bakery in the area. I've spent the time to prepare this review to help others avoid this terrible bakery.
