This gym has become the standard by which I judge others. I went here during my last year of college and it was excellent. Great staff, friendly community, clean equipment, and had everything I needed.
Love this facility, very clean and staff professional. Staff is good about showing you how to use the machines. Pool and hot tub clean. I have been a member since 2012 training with Anthony Campo and he is as professional as you can get,He cares about his clients and I also see him working and giving his opinion to any member that ask. I have also had conversations with the other trainers there and they have given me important advice on equipment use, as well as well as proper nutrition .Price is reasonable for the cleanliness and quality service you receive.
This is my second year as a member. The club is very well run. It is very clean. I have had hip and back issues since my children were born prompting me to seek a trainer to help. I train with Anthony Campo and have had great success with my back issues and hip. He was able to adapt my training routine to my needs. He is challenging and very knowledgeable. He offers group lessons and private lessons. The groups lessons and very cost effective. I enjoy the group lessons the best. You get to work out with a great group of people. All in all, the gym is amazing and my trainer fits perfectly with my work out needs.
It is our first experience with a gym, and we couldn't be happier. The gym is really clean and everyone is very friendly and courteous. We especially like the trainer Anthony Campo. He is very professional and good at what he does. I am a retired nurse, and worked with a physical therapist for 16 years. Anthony knows what he is doing and well informed. I would recommend Anthony and this gym to anyone. We have improved our health and physical ability to a great degree in only 7 weeks.
Good equipment, nice pool but terrible security. Often the desk is not staffed and anyone can walk in and pillage the lockerrooms. Even immediately after a rash of incidences, they continued to have no one at the desk for long periods of time. OK place if you can lock everything up in a locker, but not so good in the winter when you have coats and boots that don't really fit. I lost well over $400 worth and when I was trying to file look e report I had to stand in line while others did the same.
If you are looking for a great gym, the Riverwalk is the one for you. I have been a member for almost 5 years and go there 5 days a week. I wouldn't think of changing. The facility is immaculate, Kristina and her staff are great. I take water classes, yoga, zumba and the instructors are the best. I have also worked with a trainer and use the equipment. Do yourself a favor and try the Riverwalk.
Very Very friendly front desk staff stayed at hotel with partner and they were very nice only THEY.CLOSE BY 4PM SUNDAY: So basically ur whole night is shot if checkin from adjacent double tree is.4pm. great pool amazing new machines but hot tub was not working when i went: Needs a precor elliptical EFX576I. otherwise great hotel gym!it made my morning
I have used other athletic clubs in our area. I started using RAC about 2 years ago primarily because this is where my personal trainer is. RAC's facility is by far the best in the area as far as equipment, classes, lockers, cleanliness and attention to detail. I think the facility was completed renovated after the flood of 2011. The women's locker rooms are very nice and well-maintained. I enjoy using the sauna available in the women's locker room. I have not been in the men's locker room. I would also like to commend the staff - friendly, helpful and available. While I am there, I see a staff person walk around and wipe down all the equipment. We are encouraged to wipe down the equipment after we use it of course. Wet wipes are provided to members. As far as equipment, RAC has quite the variety. If you would like to use a personal trainer, RAC has several well-qualified available. When I am there, there is probably at least three personal trainers working with clients. I just read the review that discussed Anthony Campo, one of the personal trainers. I have been using Anthony Campo for almost two years now. He is the ultimate professional in my book. Highly qualified in both training and nutrition. He is very patient with all his clients. His clients range in age from very young to over 90. Because of his education and experience in physical therapy, he is very good with working with clients who have physical limitations. I have been very pleased with my strength training progress since I started with him. I would rate him a five star trainer! He builds individual training plan for each of his clients and encourages them to do the best they can and even better. I started working with him to get stronger for running and cross country skiing. I can definitely see a difference in my arm, shoulder, leg and hip strength. The salt-water, heated indoor pool is very nice and well-maintained. The group classes are very popular. Overall, I would rate RAC as five star in my book.
The Riverside Athletic Club has a cleanliness that impresses me. I loved the clarity of the water and the freshness of the hot tub. The hot tub felt capacious and one could enjoy a view through the solarium windows outdoors and watch swimmers about their laps. I found everything I needed to clean up well: bright mirrors where I could check my shaving, soap in the showers, a machine to dry my swimsuit and a sauna where I could sweat the gunk out of my pores. Now the sauna peaked at 120 degrees Fahrenheit, hot enough to sweat and yet not hot enough to match a traditional Finnish sauna. A note asked us to not throw water on the rocks. Throwing water on the rocks makes a sauna a Finnish sauna, to my mind. Maybe if the club invested in an electric heater from Finland that uses real field stones? The membership price for the year matches the initiation price at other clubs, making this club on the Chenango River shore a great value. If anything, I would like more of a common area for drinking cold drinks and waiting for my work out friends. I guess the lobby of the Doubletree works for that purpose.
RAC offers great amenities for the price. The facilities are clean and modern. The equipment is great. The staff and trainers are excellent and knowledgeable. More specifically, my experience with the trainers is with Anthony Campo. He has helped my body "learn" how to move and perform better. I've had reoccurring shoulder issues that I've seen a number of medical professionals about; all with no solution to fix the underlying problem. Anthony performed an assessment on me, showed me an easy routine to follow, and I have been pain and injury free since then!
