Benvenuti a Riva!

Riva, meaning the shore in Italian, brings together the 'flavours' of two places that we love very dearly - Italy & the 1000 Islands.

Inspired by the osterias of Italy, Riva is a modern day take on a traditional Italian tavern, paired with nautical elements reminding us of what we cherish most about The River.

A gathering place where locals and visitors alike can drop in on a whim, unwind with a glass (or two) of wine, catch up and enjoy a bite to eat of whatever the Chef is cooking.

Reservations were full, however they found room with a short wait for a table for four. To start we had the calamari with salad. The calamari was on the salty side, but very good. Mixed green salad was excellent. Bread loaf with garlic butter dip, and balsamic/olive oil dip was a show stopper. For the main, grilled rib eye was cooked perfectly. For the pasta dish, our waiter suggested the bacon carbonara. It was so full of flavour, that it had us considering taking one to go. Their thin crust pizza was also very good.The interior was modern yet had a rustic charm highlighted by the brick walls in the lounge area. Overall was an excellent experience, the service was great and the pricing was fair. We will be back.

An elegant, classy restaurant in the town centre of Gananoque featuring a primarily Italian menu. I had the bufala pizza, which I enjoyed. The ice cream (vanilla & mint with chocolate pieces) was not so impressive to me. Good service. Looks like a nice place for a special date or a group celebration. My family and I were passing through as tourists and were warmly welcomed. Recommend that you make reservations.

Food is amazing! Their charcuterie boards are my favourite to get, along with the pizzas. I've tried their pastas as well and they are really delicious. Resturant is so beautiful and spacious, you can tell a lot of thought was put into the decor.

Loved this place! Will definitely be going back there. Very classy and cozy atmosphere! Food was delicious and the service was really good..and quick! 2 thumbs up for sure! Highly recommend this place!

Not tourist friendly, quite the opposite, if you like someone's condescending attitude you can stop by, if not then leave it for the local elite...
