I have been doing business with Richelieu Dartmouth for 15 years. They are knowledgeable, friendly and always professional. What they are not however, is a retail store. They are a supplier for professionals and contractors like myself who know what we are doing. Countless times I have seen DIYers and Weekend Warriors go into their showroom, expecting the staff who are very busy handling customers and clients via phone and email, to come out from behind the desk to hold their hands as if they were their personal interior designer. Their prices are not shown on items, because pricing is based on the quantity you purchase of any given product, and how much you spend with them on a yearly basis. Many of the general public do not seem to understand this, and have left a lot of bad reviews on here, simply because they did not do their due diligence and research beforehand. Richelieu does not owe you affordability, or a personalized hand-holding session in their showroom. Know what you're getting into before you go and don't leave nasty reviews for them because YOU don't understand how their business model works.

We were the only customers in the showroom and all 6 employees totally ignored us. When we did finally get one person to answer a question , it was like pulling teeth! She did not want to look up items for us, to see if they were in stock, nor offer any help or advice. It was a painful and disappointing experience, and we will NEVER go back there.

We've had a long working relationship with the Richelieu team. They have excellent customer service and coordination. Always put us at the top of their priority list. Highly recommend!

Richelieu has almost anything you could possibly want in the way of hardware and fittings, but good luck getting it. The showroom has tons of great stuff to peruse. There is no pricing on anything, and no way to look up a price or information on an item. The staff do not under any circumstances come out from behind their counter. If you have a question about something you saw, you have to wait in line and then try to point at the thing you were interested in to get an answer. You may find that you waited in line for the wrong department there are no signs, and have to go wait in line again. There is always a lineup, just because there is so little information on the floor. Checkout takes a while because they have to take all of your information and print a full invoice in order to make a purchase. Best bet - know exactly ultra-specifically what you want before you go in. BTW, the website sucks also, so you can't easily use it to make a buying decision.

Communication with them was dreadful. Several mistakes were made because updated information and photos of what I wanted were not passed from the lady I spoke with to the counter cutters. When I had my countertop taken back for alteration I watched the pickup man drag it through the gravel busting up the end. Upon delivery of the finished product I found several gauges in the countertop, then he proceeded to complain saying this better be the last time he has to come down my way, and then bad mouthed the head staff of the company. Very unprofessional in dealing with clients and as a driver as well he was quite incompetent. I’ve had plenty of deliveries to my place with larger trucks and they never claimed that they didn’t “feel safe” parking on the side of the road. 15 feet further down and on the opposite side of the road is where a competent driver would have parked, not right on the sharp blond bend in the road.

NEVER AGAIN Stood at counter waiting for help for 15 minutes with at least six people working at the counter and no one bothered to ask me if I needed help. Once I asked one person, they said I was standing at the wrong department and to go to the other people who were doing nothing but, didn't seem interested in helping a customer. I would not buy from these people even if they were half the price of a competitor
