Wow! The food is great, portions generous, presentation and taste amazing, price very reasonable for the quality you get. Service was amazing! One of the rare places I'd recommend everyone. Many glutten free options, actually most of the menu, except that some sauces may have a little.nnWe had a great time. If you have a big appetite, they a MTL table that is worth it, by far. Drinks and food are great and absolutely like the menu picture and as advertised. Chapeau! We will go back 200% sure :

We had an unforgettable experience during our visit, and we are already making plans to return. First and foremost, the food fresh at Barranco is rich with flavors. The cocktails are beautiful looking and taste great. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to experience a different cuisine they are not accustomed to. Great job to anyone involved in running the place .

Very good experience. 4.5 stars. Overall the food was great, not 5 stars, but more than 4 definitely. For example, I found pork belly tacos too dry. But all other choices we tried were really good. They don’t cheap on drinks, also they have a very large drink menu. Service was good, but I found the environment too loud, especially for the summer time because it’s placed on a very busy street with an open patio, terrace, so the music, people chatting, traffic create a lot of noise. Will I recommend it? Yes. But be aware it’s a Peruvian urban cuisine, a fusion, if you tried a real one before. Will visit it again.

After seeing all the reviews we thought this place was good, but unfortunately it’s not on par with other Montreal restaurants. Cocktails were imaginative but that’s where the “good” stops.nnFood was abysmal. Seafood was very chewy where it’s clear the “cook” doesn’t know how to prepare seafood properly.nThe chicharone on fried rice was way too salty- to the pint of being inedible.nnPortions were also way too small for the asking price. To better explain, it felt like eating very low quality street food at an exorbitant price.nnWaitresses were never found…only to be hit with an automatic 20% tip at the end…seriously??nnFirst impressions are unfortunately lasting impressions when it comes to niche/particular restaurants such as Barranco. They might apologize but in the end it would’ve be better to serve quality in the first place and earn a respectable and merited review.nnAll this to say, they need to reinvent themselves if they want to survive in this economy. Tourism can bring such restaurants only so far until word goes out that perhaps they’re no longer relevant in the Montreal market.
