Story

The Redwood Steakhouse & Bar is Medicine Hat’s newest premiere steakhouse which opened its doors mid-December 2014. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming with modern décor and an inviting lounge area. Executive Chef Tim Schorno has created a vibrant and creative menu to satisfy and cater to many palettes. A few of the Chef’s creations that people are constantly raving about are the Lobster Corndogs, Signature Steaks, and Banana Bread Foster, which are all made fresh in house.

Food and service we're both good. Calamari was not the greatest but everything else was awesome.

Unfortunately, I was unable to try the food here. I waited over five minutes to be seated (there were two tables in the restaurant at the time). After being seated, I waited 15 minutes for the server to return before looking for her and then, when she couldn't be found, I left the restaurant. On the way out, I met up with her in the lobby and explained that I couldn't wait any longer and had to leave. She was apologetic, but I couldn't make the timeline work to stay and eat. I'm disappointed that my day of relaxation and pampering ended on such a low note. It seemed like the workers were disorganized and any staff that I saw around the restaurant area seemed completely unconcerned with customers.

The Redwood holds the distinct honour of serving me the worst steak I've ever attempted to eat. The meat looked grey and was coated in pepper to the point of being inedible. We were rushed through our meal as well which added insult to peppery injury. As a bonus my friend and I also had intense indigestion for the rest of the day as a wonderful take home reminder of our time at the Redwood.

I've ordered the CBA (chicken bacon avocado) salad here more times than I can count and have never once been disappointed. Very refreshing, filling, and delicious salad!

The foot is to die for the lobster corn dogs are a must. They should be number one.
