David's passion for music is only surpassed by his drive to see his students succeed. I've been taking lessons for over a year now. I've gone from knowing nothing to playing songs for my family and improvising the blues. David seamlessly demonstrates, and showcases techniques, then guides the lesson all while effortlessly playing his guitar. And every second of the lesson is blessed with David's endearing smile. A great teacher, a great musician, and a great person. Progressive Guitar Studio is an awesome place to improve on the six strings for students of any age.

David is an excellent guitar instructor. Been with him off and now for many years. Now my wife and I are his students.

I was recently gifted an older acoustic guitar, and I turned to David to have it re-strung. Because of how unfamiliar I am to guitars, he was gracious enough to give me a mini-lesson on how to play it, along with a practice sheet to learn the chords. I had a great pleasure talking to him about music - his true passion. I would definitely look for him to be my guitar teacher. He is a fantastic person, and you will see the passion when you see him too.

Wow this guy is not just another, "I want to be a guitar teacher" , wannabe....he's probably the best teacher in the lower mainland. This includes any of the music store teachers. He used to run one of the music stores teaching programs then realized he didn't need them. It's a little hit and miss as to whether you can get a spot with him though. I suggest trying during Christmas season to contact him or during summer break; and I don't mean late August. Good luck

David teaches solid techniques and materials that will equip anyone to be able to play in any genre. He’s very knowledgeable and fun. Grateful to have learned from him. Highly recommend.
