Got there with less then 5 minutes left to close. The gentleman working was kind enough to let my friend and I come in a buy a few booster packs of the latest pokemon release. His prices were fair for the current climate around the cards and super friendly. ETBs and boosters for many other pokemon releases, plus many other cards and items. A neighborhood landmark thats been around for decades apparently. Id recommend this place to any serious and casual collectors.
The Treasure Chest Games is a store packed with card collectables and other entertainment. When I stepped inside the store, I was overwhelmed by how much stuff the store has. I came on a Saturday as well, when a lot of people were playing the Yu-Gi-Oh card game. They have movies of every format, including blu-rays, VHS and even 4KHD. They also sell video games of all formats, including the old Nintendo consoles from the 1980s and onward. The store sells all sorts of trading cards, not just Pokemon and Magic: The Gather, but also Lorcana, Dragonball, Digimon, Shadowverse Evolve, Star Wars, and yes, One Piece. In fact, they have more of those cards in stock than any other store. I was very glad that I came to Coquitlam to check this store out and I hope to come back very soon.
Bought a 151 elite trainer box. Was sad when I found out everywhere was sold out of 151. Went back to see if there were any good recommendations and low and behold they had 151 tins and packs in stock. Bought the rest of the tins and even pulled a Charizard ex! Great store with lots of options. Will be doing all my future Pokemon purchases here moving forward.
Had a pretty negative experience here the other day with one of the managers working last Saturday.nnHe was very unhelpful and impolite when every time I asked a question. I firstly asked him if they would take trades and he said “depends what it is” then simply walked away.nnI then ask again if he wanted to take a look at my binder and he then says “I don’t have time to look at all those cards” then proceeds to go on the computer at the front desk.nnI then make an offer on a card 4$ less than sticker price and he then says “I’ll pass on the offer” then takes the card away from me!! Someone who actually has good customer service skills would still give me an opportunity to at least purchase it at full price but he just kept the card behind his desk, even when I was cash ready to buy!!!nnI understand it can get busy and there are tournaments going on but at least show some manners. If you’re unable to work in high stress environments let alone retail then find a different job. Showing courtesy to people who actually love the hobby is what keeps the community a safe space. This man let alone A MANAGER did not provide any sort of positive experience whatsoever and for that, I will not be making a trip out there ever again.nnMy partner even spent money buying a couple cards too but after the very first visit to your store, you’ve definitely lost 2 customers from here on out.
I went in looking for Yugioh cards. Left with My Stop Smoking Coach for Nintendo DS, 10/10 experience. Great selection and variety in the store. There's also just a bunch of arcade cabinets in the corner that are all turned off
