Our family owned and operated Motel is located in Goldendale Washington, at the foothills of the beautiful Simcoe Mountains and is minutes away from the magnificent Columbia River Gorge, the renowned Maryhill Winery, Mount Adams, and the Gifford Pinchot National Forest.

Happened upon the Ponderosa Hotel by luck. I'm so glad I did. Big comfy room, very clean and had room to spare. The biggest surprise was the continental breakfast. The "Big" chain hotels would do well to take lessons from them. Along with the usual bagels, cold cereal and fruit, they had waffles, hash browns, scrambled eggs with peppers, onions and mushrooms, sausage patties, biscuits and gravy, plus more. The gentleman who cooks it takes great pride in making sure the guests are well feed when they leave. I will definitely be back whenever I'm in the area.

Mike is a great host. We travel with 2 dogs and always appreciate it when a motel is pet friendly. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. The breakfast served is varied and plenty for anyone. We'll definitely stay again on our way home.

This place was a saving grace! We had been driving for hours trying to find a good place to stay in between Portland and Salt Lake City and arrived at the Ponderosa after calling Mike at 2am. He was the most helpful and kind host as he helped us get settled into our extremely comfortable, clean, and spacious room. He didn't seem at all annoyed that we were arriving so late and offered to push back our checkout time free of charge after I had told him how long we'd been traveling for. I can't reiterate enough how helpful he was to us and how welcoming the whole experience was. Mike is a true gem and this was a wonderful stay. I hope to stay there again next time we come through. Thanks!

The rooms are Very clean, and quiet. Free breakfast was far more than the usual yogurt and banana. That was great, and the only reason this motel gets as many as 3 stars. However, our reservations were messed up SEVERAL times. Once is an accident, and understandable. Twice, you could be having a bad day. But between my reservation, and the reservation of family members that were traveling with me, the reservations were screwed up so thoroughly (in spite of several phone calls attempting to straighten it all out), we had to change our travel plans and only stay one night, because they were booked up... Even though there were supposed to be blocked rooms for our event, and both of my family's rooms were reserved a month in advance, for a two night stay. Our weekend family trip for a wedding became 30hrs long, with 14 of it driving to and from Goldendale. So, my hat goes off to the cleaning crew. The free breakfast was impressive and extensive. But if given the option to stay again, with the same owners/management in place, I would rather camp. And I'm not known for my love of camping.

The owners are very nice. We had vehicle problems on the freeway moving from Vancouver, Washington to Spokane and it was late at night, but they welcomed us and gave us an amazing rate on the room! They even saved us a parking spot up front to help keep an eye on our truck with a moving load in the back. The place was cozy, clean and quiet. We will stay at the Ponderosa every time we go to Goldendale or get in a pickle on the freeway in the gorge!
