Pillar and Post Inn & Spa

About

The Pillar and Post is a landmark hotel in the heart of Niagara on the Lake. It combines modern amenities within a historic setting.

Story

Pillar and Post's original structure was built in the late 1890s as a canning factory, and since has been lovingly transformed into a fine Niagara on the Lake hotel. You can still see its original purpose in the clean lines of the brick walls and in the impressive post-and-beam construction.

The hotel has a relaxed elegance with sunshine streaming in through skylights, beautiful terra cotta tile floors, indoor and outdoor pools, and an exotic hot springs pool at 100 Fountain Spa, #1 spa in Canada (Spas of America 2011).

With our prime location in Niagara-on-the-Lake wine country, attentive service and commitment to the comfort of our guests, Pillar and Post is an ideal location for a romantic spa getaway, business meeting or a family vacation.

We had a self-care getaway on a Thursday at the spa. We bought the day pass for $50 which gave us access to i door lounge, indoor pool, hot tub, heated outdoor pool, sauna, hot spring pool and fitness center. Other treatments like massage, facial, manicure and pedicure were also available for extra.nnThe staff were very friendly and helpful. The priority access to hot spring pool goes to hotel guests, but we didn’t have any problems booking it during the day. We also enjoyed hot spring pool under the rain; pretty romantic, eh?nnThere’s tea and coffee available in the lounge and you can buy food and drinks from the bar to enjoy. Drinks are allowed in the pool area, except no glassware is allowed.nnYou’ll be provided with a robe and flip flops if you forget your slippers, but you have to bring your own swimsuit. There are towels available everywhere, and you can use them. The changing rooms were well-equipped and clean. Shampoo is available in the showers.nnIt was a very calm and relaxing day for us and we decided to plan another getaway soon.
Enjoyed to stay in the hotel. Services were excellent, all the staffs were friendly. However, the room was a bit small, and there was no heater on. If we turned on the heater, the fire alarm would keep beeping, it was super annoying. Therefore, we spent a cold night in the room and it was -15degree. Maybe the facilities in the room could be improved and renewed.
Nearly 5 stars, the service is fantastic, everyone from the front desk to the spa to housekeeping was friendly and helpful. The location is great and the on-site facilities are very nice, really love what has been done with the gardens.nnOnly thing is some of the rooms need some updating or repair. Our bathroom was very clean but had some severe water damage on the door frame. The fireplace seemed like it wasn't working well either.nnOverall I would strongly recommend especially if you are able to get it for a similar price to other nearby properties.
My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at the Pillar and Post last weekend, and it was truly a wonderful experience. The grounds are stunning, and the garden across the street offers a peaceful retreat. Both pools were immaculate and delightfully warm. Our room was beautifully furnished and had a romantic ambiance. Although we didn’t get the chance to enjoy the spa during this spontaneous getaway, we’re already looking forward to trying it on our next visit. Highly recommended!
This is an excellent Inn, the rooms are spacious, the bathtubs are large and comfortable, the bar is historic, the entire buildings and grounds are quite historic and overall in excellent condition. We went to a wedding here that was in the library and it was a very intimate affair. The rooms are very expensive but this seems to be a Common Thread these days.nnThe wedding reception was in the gardens area and in their Barn which is a really nicely renovated building.nnI highly recommend this hotel if you're visiting and staying overnight in the area
