Set on 742 acres in Southwest Michigan, Pierce Cedar Creek Institute provides visitors with a unique exposure to a rare blend of diverse habitats including wetlands, forests, marshes, streams, lakes, and prairies.
Pierce Cedar Creek Institute is set on 742 acres with 9 miles of hiking trails. Our Visitor Center is open Monday - Friday 9 am - 5 pm. We will be open Saturdays in January from 10 am - 4 pm. Trails are open dawn to dusk.
The Institute is a mix between a nature center and biological field station, offers programs to serve the community, while also building partnerships with area colleges and universities to serve their faculty and students.
There are numerous seasonal opportunities for hiking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and observing wildlife on nine miles of trails throughout the natural areas. Facilities at the Institute include an auditorium, classrooms, laboratories, and overnight accommodations.
