I ordered the vegetarian spring roll but not available until next day. Then, I ordered the vegetarian rice roll instead which is good. However, I am disappointed about the Vietnamese coffee which is too sweet. It is not a traditional Vietnamese coffee style which has a combination of a dark roast coffee dripped through a metal Vietnamese coffee filter mixed with condensed milk.
15% off opening offer Skip the Dishes delivery. Average service, still hiring. Prefer Chinese speakers. Clean interior. Pho, rice dishes and appetizers were plated nicely. Taste is average. Good portion though.
Went to this restaurant for the first time today. Ordered grilled chicken and special soup. The food is just ok. It seems owners and cook are from China. Not so Vietnamese authentic pho. I don’t think I will come back to eat here. The price is not cheap either.
Excellent vermicelli bowl and beef rice noodle photos not shown. For Vietnamese coffee, it is good, but we hope that there may be less condensed milk. Spacious seating and excellent service during our Sat lunch!
The spacious sunroom of this restaurant makes your lunch with your friends delightful. The chef is generous in providing food. The beef in fact ribs is of nice quality. The surprisingly slight sour taste suggests that black vinegar is applied to the beef. This provides an extra layer of taste for the food. The owner and the attendant are very friendly. The place is very clean. Welcome this restaurant to Richmond Hill.
This review is based on 1 visit. Would I go again? Yes. It’s a nice and clean, with very simple decor restaurant. Not much service barely a “hi” when we walked in on a Tuesday afternoon. Menus and order sheet, spoons, chopsticks, condiments and sauce plates are on every table. I ordered a large house special with spring rolls. On the menu, it states that dry and fresh noodle are available. When I ordered, I didn’t specify what kind of noodles and I was served dry noodle, which is was I prefer anyway. The bean sprouts were in the broth already I prefer it like that cause the bean sprouts is cooked better this way. Because the bean spouts are in the bowl already, it makes the portion seem bigger. Standard amount of toppings. The spring rolls were okay. I’ve had better at other Vietnamese restaurants. 8.25 for 2 fairly big spring rolls. They were generous with the basil on the side for the pho and fish sauce for the spring rolls. Total was under $25 after taxes. They take credit cards. I wasn’t extremely thirsty after having the food there, which is usually a good indicator for the amount of salt or MSG used. I’d go again to try other dishes.
This place was quite bad overall. The fresh rolls are passable, and the peanut sauce is very good. The decision to put pickled carrots inside is questionable at best. This was probably the only ok part of the meal. The spring rolls had a reasonably good shell, but the filling was very dense, dry, and not juicy. The iced coffee was bitter and didn't have the sharpness of typical Vietnamese coffee, nor did it have any depth. It was very one note bitter. The broth in the pho was actually excellent. There was a generous amount of meat as well. The noodles were way overcooked which ruined the whole experience. The bun bo hue soup was not very good to begin with. To make things way worse, the blood jello was very cold on the inside. The bun rieu was a disaster. The broth tasted like hot crab water and the crab itself didn't taste particularly good. At least the service was quick. Maybe because the place just opened, there are many things that need to be worked out. I can see the pho becoming a good staple if they cook the noodles right.
Fried chicken wings with fish sauce was tasty and well marinated. Special beef vermicelli noodle soup was good as well
