Came here for takeout and ordered Yangzhou fried rice and a beef dish. The beef dish was fine but jeez I have never had such a horrid “fried” rice in my entire life. I mean the picture speaks for itself. You’re really telling me an authentic Chinese restaurant is serving clumpy, soggy fried rice? It doesn’t even look, taste, or feel like rice. It feels closer to congee than rice honestly. Barely any flavour. Not to mention it was $14. Yikes! The waitress also wasn’t very attentive. She said it would take 20 minutes for 2 dishes so she took our number down and said she would call us when it was ready. Only one other customer in the restaurant. No reason to go here when there are so many great restaurants in the area.
A great authentic Beijing restaurant. We ordered duck broth baby cabbage, deep fried eggplant, Peking duck rolls and a soup. The Peking duck rolls is a good alternative if there’s not enough people to share the whole duck. I’d still recommend the whole duck cuz you can make your own wrap. All of them were delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Would def recommend for authentic Beijing cuisine.
As someone who loves Peking duck, there's absolutely no way I could have passed up an opportunity to eat at a place called Peking Duck Kitchen. While the duck was good, it was disappointing that the number of wraps provided were extremely limited, which meant we had to order another one. If you want extra cucumber, sweet sauce, or onion.... that's all extra. Last but not least, the lettuce wrap was also a little bit disappointing. All in all not bad, but there's definitely better duck places in Markham or Richmond Hill.
Great Peking Duck! This place serves great value, and regardless of the price, their dishes are all prepared from the heart. Each dish arrived on our table hot and fresh, and some of the dishes tasted like how grandma's secret recipe would taste. I read some reviews regarding their lack of service/attention but our experience was perfectly normal and we did find the chef to be quite sociable. The hot and sour soup is a strong recommendation but I did find their giant meet ball a bit salty.
HIGHLY DISSAPOINTED AND NOT Recommended!! I used to do Uber delivery from this restaurant and I thought this restaurant was quite of something extraordinary. In fact I was very much disappointed knowing how low quality low quantity the foods were. They have the quality of a food court food but the price of a medium-up restaurant. We ordered Peking duck 4pcs, yangzhou fried rice, beef broccoli and tofu and they all costed $60 I would rather go to Conger queen or just first Markham place food court. Washroom was very disastrous and unhygienic. Theynalso used plastic plate. I was very fed up totally fed up. That day would be my first and last time to visit this disastrous restaurant.
Horrible experience. The food tasted pathetic! We ordered Picking duck, duck bone soup, sautéed lamb with scallions and some dessert. Absolutely fake Beijing cuisine. Especially the duck bone soup has no duck in it. It tasted like white pepper water! Very disappointed and highly not recommended!!
First time here, need to make a reservation as weekend is always packed here. Ordered a whole duck 2 ways, duck egg yellow shrimps, and a . The shrimps and the were very good. As for the duck, to me, it's a bit dry and the sliced duck dish was much smaller and pricier than other places like Peking Man or Chung King. However, the crispy duck skin in sugar tasted good.
It says it in the name Peking Duck So clearly...you come here for peking duck! And who doesn't love a nice fat and juicy roasted duck?! So i came here with 1 other guest to enjoy the peking duck and lettuce wrap plus we ordered one more dish Honestly, the duck and lettuce wraps were all we needed, plenty of food for 2 Initially starts you off with the crispy fried skin coated in sugar Its crunchy and fatty, no complaints here Now for the main course, the sliced up duck pieces Oh wow Much more than I expected However, giving more doesn't mean it taste better unfortunately The skin still crispy but i found half the dish, the meat was quite dry Very disappointed, didn't get that juicy tender meat i had hoped for Added bonus to the super thin wraps as others have mentioned in other reviews For the lettuce wraps, the meat was stir fried fine and tasted good but the lettuce wraps....yeah i know its just a head of lettuce and they washed it, i get it But it was soaking wet, like dipping water wet which i found annoying, could have dried that up abit Funny how the meat was dry yet the lettuce was soaking wet...complete opposites of what they should be hahaha The additional dish i ordered was all right, was a beef dish, pretty standard and nothing bad about it But the star of this restaurant should be the peking duck, i may hesitate from giving this place another chance as our city has plenty of other choices...
'Beijing-style' Peking duck on Sheppard just east of Midland. The Dining area is small for only about 60 people so reservations are recommended. The two course duck is a good value albeit the duck meat with cabbage serving is small. The duck itself is tasty: skin is crispy and thin, minimal fat, meat is tender. They also serve the duck plate over a tea light to keep it warm. Mapo Tofu is authentic with peppercorns and the right amount of heat. A must visit for duck connoisseurs.
First time at a Pecking Duck Restaurant, and I must say that it was an incredible experience. We ordered the Classic and a large bowl of chicken and corn soup. Soup came out nice and hot but the Classic came out a little longer, not an issue. Serving was good for two. We were given two stacks of pancakes with maybe about 10 each, with spring onion, cucumber and sweet bean sauce which was enough to devour our meal. All in all a great place to dine and the staff were very nice. A definate place to check out.
