We could not have asked for a more beautiful wedding venue than Parkwood Historic Site this month. The grounds and estate are absolutely stunning and created the most magical backdrop for our wedding day and photos. Every part of the property feels elegant, timeless, and incredibly well maintained.nnWhat truly made our experience exceptional, though, was Maggie and the entire team. Maggie was so organized, supportive, communicative, and genuinely caring throughout the entire planning process and on the wedding day itself. She went above and beyond to help everything run smoothly and made us feel so calm and taken care of.nnWe also had some uncertainty with weather, and the team handled everything so professionally and thoughtfully, always making us feel supported and reassured with backup plans and guidance. Their experience and calm presence made such a difference.nnIf you are considering Parkwood for a wedding, we truly cannot recommend it enough. It is an absolutely breathtaking venue with an amazing team behind it, and we are so grateful we chose it for such an important day in our lives.

The gardens, stone architecture, and natural light make it one of the most beautiful places in Durham Region for proposals, weddings, and portraits.nnThis photo was captured at what many might think is the “back” of the estate, but it’s actually one of the main entrances — and it created the perfect romantic backdrop for a surprise proposal.nnThe photography permit is very reasonable considering the estate’s history and charm, and it’s more affordable than many other venues of this caliber. Weekend Getaway An Afternoon Steeped in Centuries of History**nToday, I took the little ones to explore a hidden gem in Oshawa—Parkwood Estate! nnThis 19th-century historic manor feels gently preserved in time, with ivy-clad brick walls, glimmering fountain waters, and meticulously trimmed hedge mazes that frame the estate in quiet elegance. Running down the corridor featured in *X-Men* felt like stepping right into the movie scene .nnWatching clouds drift past the spire of the clocktower, I almost thought I could hear whispers from days long gone.nnThe kids cheered, “Amazing trip today!” nIf you’re around the Toronto area looking for a kid-friendly spot rich in history and photo opportunities, Parkwood Estate deserves a spot on your list P.S. It’s dog-friendly too!

The garden & surrounding areas were nice, well maintained; the washrooms clean ! The tea restaurant was just regular, had other expectations like tea in Victorian times ; the website it said you can enter the house, then when we got there found out there is a fee around $20 per person and is only scheduled for certain times; parking was free

We had our wedding ceremony at Parkwood and it was everything we could have hoped for.nnThe venue itself is stunning. The greenery and pathways were immaculately maintained, with beautiful flowers throughout and plenty of space to explore and take it all in. It created the most gorgeous backdrop for our ceremony and photos.nnMaggie and the rest of the staff were absolute professionals: warm, attentive, and clearly passionate about making every couple's day special. The team made our day truly memorable and we couldn't be more grateful. Highly recommend Parkwood to any couple looking for a beautiful, well-run venue!
