I recently visited Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens and it was absolutely beautiful. The gardens are peaceful, clean, and full of natural beauty. The walking trails along the creek are so relaxing, with clear water, tall trees, and plenty of shade — a perfect place to unwind and enjoy nature.nnOne of my favorite parts was the stunning old trees with their unique textured bark and the colorful flowers around the entrance. The atmosphere feels calm and refreshing, making it a wonderful spot for walking, photography, or simply spending quiet time outdoors.nnA hidden gem in Oshawa that’s definitely worth visiting for anyone who loves nature and scenic views.
We were at the Peony Festival today and it was an amazing experience. The event was very clean, there was a great variety of items to look at, and all of the vendors were wonderfully friendly.nA highlights of the day was stopping by the Fabulicious Funnel Cakes food truck. The funnel cake we ordered was absolutely delicious and we enjoyed every single bite of it. It was a perfect treat for a great day out!
I went with a friend today for the Peony Festival. Entry was free. It was a lovely Spring day. Very well organized festival. We look forward to returning on a non-festival weekend too during the summer.
Oshawa Valley Botanical Gardens is a hidden gem and such a perfect spot for a relaxing day out! There’s plenty of free parking, which is a huge plus, and the place is full of photo opportunities — no surprise there were lots of people dressed up and taking pictures all around.nnThe picturesque bridge over the stream is especially beautiful, though it did feel like people were just standing on it forever without actually taking photos, which made it hard to get a clean shot — but that’s part of the charm of a popular spot, I guess!nnThe gardens are full of flowers and very well maintained, and the stream adds a peaceful vibe as you walk along. I saw lots of families with kids and dogs, and the two playgrounds one for smaller kids, one for bigger ones are a thoughtful touch.nnBird lovers will enjoy it too — I spotted a variety of birds just sitting and watching. Overall, it’s a wonderful place for a leisure walk, a casual picnic, or a peaceful nature break right in the city. Highly recommend!
Went about a week after the peony festival mid-June and the peonies were still in full bloom. It was kind of like a labyrinth walking back and forth through all the rows of different varieties. There are also other gardens that are meticulously kept and clearly cared for by loving gardeners.
