We have stopped at Papa George's for breakfast every time we have come to Jasper. This last trip we stopped for a quick lunch. They were doing some renovations in the kitchen so they were offering a limited menu. We had the soup of the day, which was vegetable beef and shared the club house and fries. Both were okay. We have been here over several years and have always had the same waitress. Quick service and attuned to your needs. Prices were reasonable.
Best view for dining. Mimosas were the best I’ve ever had, it was frothy at the top. I typically like not alot of OJ, and while it was very orange looking, it didn't taste overly orangie. Banana bread French toast was perfectly cooked, banana bread by itself was likely equally as good. Chia latte spiked was a perfect choice with banana bread. Sad we didn't get to eat here again.
There was no part of this establishment that dissappointed me. Excellent service, great coffee from a small batch local source and filling unpretentious, delicious breakfast. The people of this restaurant were engaging and enjoyable. Don't go changing.
I got the banana bread french toast with hashbrowns not pictured and both were amazing. What really set this place apart aside from the delicious food was the level of service we got from our waitress wish we had gotten her name. Our waitress went above and beyond. Always making sure our coffee cups stayed filled and literally going out of her way to make our experience memorable. My friends had their 3 month old daughter with us and the waitress helped us open the doors and set the stroller down. It was some of the best service I've had in quite awhile and really made us feel welcome and at home. I would absolutely recommend and hope to be back at some point! Thanks for the amazing experience!
I'd been to this place many times, the experience had been amazingly great. Until the very last time, on Saturday, Oct 29, in the morning, around 9 am, I received the worst customer service ever at this restaurant in my entire life. The older waitress was unpleasant, she served like a robot . She put on her fake smiles, put foods on the table just like she was feeding her annoying dogs. She did ask if everything was going well with our table, yes, things were fine, but her attitude was a problem, but we were polite and considered we were unlucky to have her as our waitress. We didn't want to make a big deal out of it, probably she was just not happy with her job but she couldn't find a better job, or she didn't have a good sleep. As we didn't have a very good service from the waitress, we tipped her 10%, she poorly confronted us, she indicated it's mandatory to tip 15% or more in Canada. What? Seriously? Another friend of mine tried to find options for 15%, but the machine didn't allow that, so my friend just paid 18% for tip on the bill, and moved on. Honestly, owner and management, look at the negative reviews closer and be receptive for a minute to understand what we want to tell you. This behavior of the waitress is unacceptable. She clearly did not get paid enough for doing the bare minimum of the serving job, but she didn't want to go extra mile to make her customers happy, hence be generous with the tip. She seriously has a problem with herself. Your business shouldn't have to suffer from her behavior. Prospective customers, if you want to have good foods, you can consider this place. But if you want good foods and good customer service, please stay away. I would never come back to this place. Very sad!
We just returned from the most DELICIOUS meal we’ve had while in Jasper. We seriously can’t stop rubbing our bellies and talking about how amazing the food was. We ordered one carnivore skillet and one herbivore skillet, both came out fast and piping hot, and both tasted absolutely amazing. The hash browns were perfectly seasoned and cooked, and everything in the skillet went so well together! The chef must really know what they’re doing to make simple veggies taste THAT good! Drip coffee was good, service was great, and the food was just straight up amazing. Seriously the most impressive breakfast I’ve had in Jasper. We actually left feeling full and extremely satisfied for the first time during our week here. Thank you Papa George’s for the great service and incredible food, I highly recommend both skillet dishes, and they were totally worth the price point. What a positive experience!
Went for breakfast after a weekend of drinking and the food was delicious, cooked just right. The service was phenomenal and they are very smart with their seating. Families and adult only tables separated to either side of restaurant. Whether that was merely observed or intentional idk, but as someone without kids and a hangover it was nice to be seated away from them.
This restaurant blew my expectation. I figured this resturant would be average or good. However, this restaurant was excellent. The server was great, friendly and helpful. The food was good. I didnt expect my Wild Boar dish to be good. The sauce gave more depth and flavour to the boar. The portions are generous. Even the soups was delicious that I want to order another one. Shepherd's Pie is also good that I felt like I was at a British Pub. Dessert is also good. Unfortunately I do not remember what I ordered but it was good. The server told us that the dessert are made from local bakery not from mass produced bakery. Supporting local business is a big plus for me. The breakfast looks interesting and delicious. I will come back for breakfast. If I come back to Jasper, I would come back to this restaurant!!!
Sorry to say we had a bad experience. They were out of the specials and the food we got was not good. The Ruben was greasy and not on rye bread, the onion soup was very salty, and the beef on my beef dip was a little green. The waitress dropped some dishes and just put them back in the clean bins. Won't be back
Came early for dinner on a busy holiday weekend. Service was excellent and attentive. Asked for gluten free options. There were many. Even brought gluten free bread out to go with their own free dinner rolls. Food was good, well cooked and presented. Seating was comfortable. Good views. Recommended.
