Story

Opening its doors in 1990 in historic downtown Mount Vernon, Pacioni's has become a staple in local dining. Fresh baked Italian pizza and made to order calzones makes this establishment unique. Recently taken over by a young local family, Pacioni's hopes to continue to bring great food and an authentic Italian experience for new and old customers alike.

It took over an hour to get our food. It was a Friday night and there was a play very nearby so I do understand it taking awhile. Our appetizer did not even arrive until 51 minutes after ordering- not sitting down, but placing the order. The guy I was with timed it. The waitress did not check in with us during the hour plus we waited. She did not apologize for the delay and I had to go find someone to get my water refilled. The waitress had a positive attitude but was not concerned about our experience. I ordered chicken with capers and veggies as I am on a diet. They accommodated me on that very nicely. The food was quite good. I tasted my daughters tortellini and my sister's friends' calzone. All 3 dishes were very good. My daughters tortellini and my chicken came to 36 dollars so the prices are on point for the area. The atmosphere was very basic. Nothing too fancy. The bathroom hall is awkward and the women's bathroom was dirty. They were busy, but many tables were empty. Those seated were larger parties. Overall, I would go back but I would make sure I had plenty of time to just sit and wait.

Very mixed results. Appetizers were good. Service was slow. Main course food was not great quality for the price. Penne pasta red sauce looked and tasted like a jar of ragu. Salad dressing tasted like from the bottle as well.

Great food, process, staff. We shared a Greek salad, tomato basil soup, and the pizza with sausage and gorgonzola portobello mushroom. All of it was wonderful. The pizza was thin crust and not at all soggy. The Greek salad had a wonderful salad dressing and the biscuit was very good especially when you give to your grilled butter bread. The creme brulee with the best we've had in quite some time.

The bruschetta is amazing and so are the salads. I like the pizza. It is a lot of food for two people. I prefer sitting in the booths rather than the tables. The tables are a bit short if you are tall.

Great food and excellent fine wine collection. Pricy but great service and a friendly staff. Be sure to make reservations for peak hours and holidays especially for larger groups.
