Royal Star Buffet

Tried it for the first time even though seen it many times. It was not a disappointment at all. Food as all hot. There was a wide variety from the good old roast dinner offering to the stir fried dishes to a Mongolian grill and wide selection of deserts. Definitely worth the visit.Food: 5/5

Went here to have a early dinner with my family, was super excited to see the crab and crawfish was available. When asking what time dinner was, I couldn’t exactly get an answer seeing as he didn’t speak very good English. I just brushed it off and was going to wait a little bit in hopes it would be available soon. My husband and take turns getting our food because we don’t leave our children unattended at the table, whenever we go out anywhere. Well when I went to go get my second plate the crab and crawfish was FINALLY AVAILABLE!!! YAYYYYY!!! Get to the table and it’s still wrapped up in the same twine/fishing line it was either caught in or wrapped up to help bowl them. I don’t know I’m not a professional chief but what I do know is if you are going to serve food in big quantities like this at least check the product before it goes out. After this I didn’t want to eat anything else because I was worried I might bite into something else that wasn’t supposed to be in there. Kid-friendliness: Maybe having a kid menu or something more available for kids and their pallets

Fabulous food selection, freshly rolled sushi and a hibachi option. Food is always hot and looks fresh. Friendly staff and great service! The entire family will love this place! A little more on the spendy side, but worth it for special occasions! We drive over an hour, just to visit and eat here!

Heading to the state park, all the restaurant places were slammed for brunch. Saw the 'open' sign for Royal Star Buffet and we decided to give it a try. They were just opening @11am. Super clean. Tables spaced out to deal with the pandemic issues. Everyone wearing masks as required, good protocol to deal with the buffet which we had questions on how. Great selection of food, freshly cooked or rolled. Sushi, seafood, meats, salads, Asian dishes. Above normal 'buffet' standards by far. A couple bland dishes, but there were sauces and seasonings galore to take care of that. Two big thumbs up, this makes the 'will stop again' list.

I came here on a whim, and it did not dissapoint! The selection of food was perfect for everyone in our family, even the picky eaters. The variety and amazing, and the food though sitting in dishes as a standard buffet felt like it had just been cooked then and there! Speaking of just cooked food, they also had an awesome Mongolian BBQ, which was great fun for the kids. This was a perfect way to try out new flavors and foods without worrying about quality or expense. Whenever we are in the area, we will come again!

10/8 Update: They made it through the pandemic struggles thankfully. For Sushi lovers, you MUST stop in and give it a taste. Their bar is small yet large in flavor. Always fresh with the traditional and not so traditional. Today was smoked salmon and it was fantastic. Picture of the bar added for exposure. Hubby's favorite place to eat when we are in Mount Vernon. Great salad bar, grill, and buffet around! Service is fantastic and food is always fresh. Highly recommended!

Love this place.go there often. Don't go to late or food gets a little over done but so yummy and it's all u can eat. I like to do the to go cause it's by the pound and you can feed many for less!

They serve Mongolian style BBQ, large selection salad bar, dessert sweets and limited sushi & sashimi. Baked oysters, fried shrimps, spicy shrimps, steamed clams, sour & spicy soup, roasted beef with gravy, broccolis chicken are my favorites! And finished it with twisted ice cream in my hand. But always have to drink a lot of tea or water afterward...

First time at this Asian/American buffet. We had the all-you-can-eat lunch buffet. There were so many choices: 3 kinds of soup, pot stickers with a pork filling that was spot on, steamed clams, a beautiful salad bar, Sushi that looked too good to eatyou just wanted to admire the chef's handiwork, make your own waffles, a Mongolian grill, and my new favorite, chicken-on-a-stick. The best thing about this restaurant though are the smiling, helpful staff and the cleanliness. I couldn't get over how clean even the carpet was to the cornersI looked.. I have one test to know if a restaurant is serious about cleaning....their soda machine. I order a soda because I can taste the difference between a soda machine that is cleaned regularly and correctly, and ones that are not. Royal Star Buffet passed with flying colors. We will definitely be back.

I have visited this buffet about 6 times. I drive from Lynnwood, WA to go here. I am a Travel Writer by trade so I visit many different eating establishments. Frankly, I am amazed at the variety and quality of the food here for the price. Two seniors can dine for under $20.00 including complimentary tea, during the lunch special. They keep the place clean and tidy. Staff is quick to bring you a beverage and take away your used plates. Family friendly always. If you like chinese food you need to check this place out.
