I started my journey with DIY Cabinets back in July. My partner and I were happy with the service initially and ordered our cabinets in September after finalizing the plans. We received our cabinets in November and were devastated when every single upper cabinet had damage to them. They left Superior Cabinets in such condition. The cabinets had severe cracking on all side panels, the finished side had paint chips, doors were over sprayed with paint, there were dents, cracked corners and some were received without doors. Some cracks had been plastered over in an attempt to hide the damage. Steve stated he was embarrassed at what we received and was quick to action and new cabinets were ordered. This is where the story changes and I am appalled at the lack of customer support we received. Steve knew the circumstances regarding our kitchen project and with the cabinets being delayed another month the goal of being in our home for Christmas came to a complete halt. Due to this derailment we were left to eat the costs. We approached Steve asking for compensation, his offer was not acceptable for the amount of money we spent. When we ordered with Steve and DIY Cabinet Warehouse we were promised quality products and service. Look at their website, it's everywhere. Fast forward a month we got the call the cabinets were in. We had to wait several extra days due to issues regarding delivery. Once delivered we immediately inspected the cabinets and were left disappointed at the craftsmanship. There were multiple issues regarding paint on the finished sides, chips on the bottoms as well as shelves and more. I let Steve know right away there were issues and the following morning emailed him a detailed list with images as we did the first time. I did not hear back so decided to stop in to talk in person, in the afternoon. Steve was not on site. I spoke with Vivian who agreed that the issues were not acceptable but I was told to wait for Steve to respond. The weekend went by and we heard nothing. On Monday morning we stopped in, in hopes to talk with Steve face to face. When Steve arrived on site he did not acknowledge me when he entered even when I said good morning. I was left to wait uncomfortably until Vivian asked him to speak with me. Steve stated he did not see my email and when I explained the issues said he did not know what to do. He said they could be reordered again or they could be canceled and we would be reimbursed. Initially starting over was not an option for us, we were already delayed a month and would have to wait an additional month for a second time. On top of that Vivian told us that the damaged cabinets were ours to deal with as they have no value to them due to the custom sizing. When we approached Steve again regarding compensation he refused and rescinded this initial offer as well as the offer of a refund when we stated we did not want to continue with him. I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with the treatment we have received from Steve and DIY Cabinet Warehouse. They do not work for their customers. Throughout this entire ordeal which has been extremely damaging financially and emotionally we have stayed calm and respectful and tried to come to a resolution. We asked for compensation, a partial refund, to end the relationship and Steve refused. If you want quality cabinets and customer service DO NOT go here. If something goes wrong there is no rectifying the wrongdoing. You are guaranteed to get cold service and no support. Images for context, willing to share all communications.
I'm very happy with the custom kitchen that we installed Dec 2020. The folks at DIY were very helpful with the whole process. I had some issues, everything was replaced with new parts, no problem. I'm happy with quality and finish of the cabinets. My kitchen looks very custom for a reasonable price. Even the delivery was great, those cabinets are heavy.
The customer service is horrible. Steve yelled at me on the phone for emailing and calling to confirm if he had received an email I sent. This was 6 day after I sent the email. I have used this company in the past and it never took 6 days to respond to my email. He told me I should know he was off and not to bother him. I don't know if he owns the place but if he doesn't I would love to hear from the owner/manager. follow up To the comment from the owner. After you yelled on the phone and hung up on me, I when back to my email to see if I missed an email. I have no email from you saying you would be off this week. When I called Tuesday I spoke to the receptionist she said you were not in, that you lived in Quebec and your internet was not great out there. she took my name and number and said someone would call me back. Then I called yesterday following up at around noon yesterday, I asked to speak to a manager as I had been told I would receive a call and I did not. I was not rude and neither was the staff. When Natasha spoke to me I mentioned my tight timeline, the fact that when I call the number on your email it has a message that send the phone was discounted and asked if ordering my cabinet were possible or if you closed DIY. She seem annoyed with the question but assure me that was not the case and that someone would be in touch. The next phone call was you yelling that I harassed your staff. I my world two civil phone calls is not harassment. I have a project with timelines, it is my job to stay course. This whole situation was odd, one week everything is good and then your calling yelling. I have nerve been rude to you or anyone else. I have a timeline which I told you about and a job that needs to be done well. hopefully this is a one time situation and you don't continue this with other customer.
I was told about DIY Warehouse by a neighbour and I subsequently renovated my entire kitchen and two bathrooms using Kitchencraft cabinets from DIY in the spring of 20016. Eric designed the new kitchen and he and Erica bent over backwards to help me in every way. The factory shipped some excess inventory that was priced at clearance levels and I took advantage of the great savings. The quality of the cabinets is high - some are particle board construction, others plywood so you can complete your project with a high end or a lower end budget. I would not hesitate to give DIY Warehouse and staff a full 5-star rating for knowledge, helpfulness and value.
Unfortunately after 8 weeks of waiting the cabinets ordered and delivered were the wrong color seems they were just one number off the correct color which was 100% their error. Despite being asked to pay in full when we ordered which we did, they are not prompt returning calls about the corrected orders delivery time, which we still don't have, probably because they already got the money. We had planned a number of get togethers during the Christmas season at our home and having our unfinished kitchen has made that difficult and embarrassing. Unacceptable tardy communication with DIY has ruined our experience with this company. The management should have called the maker and personally made it a priority order and given us a firm date to fix this issue. We are not in the habit of publicly stating poor service, people are only human but when you make mistakes and we all do at least follow it up with good communication and after payment service or you just loose peoples business and worse your reputation. - Roxanne and Jed Tommy
If you're expecting a shiny showroom, go elsewhere. This is basically a warehouse, and the staff are basically working in a warehouse. You're going to need some realistic expectations from a place called Diy Warehouse. I got a great budget kitchen from these folks, and I will be installing something higher end from them soon in my own home.
Was there on Saturday and the young girl who was there was not very pleasant. Asked a few questions regarding kitchen cabinets and was very rude. Although we were interested in purchasing some cabinets, we decided to go elsewhere. We would not give our business to people like that.
So far just got a layout and visited the warehouse. Nice guy there. Very knowledgeable. I picked the fronts I wanted.
Knowledgeable and experienced. They care and are patient. Good prices. I've been a customer for years.
Good prices great service, delivered as promised
