One of the best restaurants in Ottawa I have ever been to. I can’t get over their 4 cheese pizza..it’s a sin to skip that one. Polento bites and stuffed mushrooms were something new to try. Both were delicious. I was there on my birthday. I got treated with a cake and head chef wished me birthday in opera singing style.
Not the most artistic photo, but I definitely recommend the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer to share! Overall, a really great experience, the customer service was great and the chef personally came out to check on each table at the end of the night. I got the regular pizza and it was amazing, the crust was fluffy and the sauce to cheese ratio was perfect. I can't wait to bring my partner because it had such a cozy and romantic atmosphere and of course great food. Highly recommend!
I was really looking forward to trying this place because many of my friends recommended it and also they have a dedicated gluten free menu with many options which is rare to find. Despite this I was disappointed. We got two gluten free pizzas one vegetarian and the other was chicken with pesto. The crust was very hard, the chicken tasted old and over all both pizzas just felt like they were missing something. Despite the tastes of the pizzas, the customer service was good and the restaurant is located in a nice area in little Italy. I may give this place another shot considering some of the great reviews and their gluten free menu.
Excellent place!!!!! I am allergic to gluten and dairy and they have a menu only gluten-free. It taste incredible. I never had a good experience in a restaurant that understands my condition. The staff was mega friendly and polite. Also, my family and I usually eat big big portions, they exceed my expectations, the chicken parmesan was perfect for my hungry celiac stomach, it comes with salad and gluten-free garlic bread. The desserts are gluten-free. I really recommend the restaurant, every one should try it. PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT!!! Vegetarian options: Gluten-free and dairy-free menu Parking: Good and close the restaurant Dietary restrictions: I'm allergic to gluten and dairy. They adjusted an entire menu gluten free separate from the regular.
Gorgeous patio and a very intimate and cozy indoor dining setting. The dishes are all incredible, and for the quality of food you're getting it's a very fair price! I didn't picture it here but for 25$ I got one of the most amazing lasagnas I ever eaten, along with a ceaser salad and garlic bread. The crême brûlée is also literally to die for. Highly recommend!
Ate here last night with my brother and sister in-law. Arrived early and was greeted as soon as I entered the door. I was sat at a table and soon after was asked if I would like anything to drink by the server of our table for the night - Andrew. I was undecided on a drink and asked what the rotation on draught was tonight. Andrew offered me a free sample of the draught beer - which was a generous serving as well! The food was delicious tonight. I had the Gnocchi Arrabbiata and it was very tasty, spicy and soft. The cheesecake at the end of the meal melted in my mouth. It was very delicious. Andrew's service was excellent! Always checked on us and made sure all the tables were doing well. Would definitely recommend this location as well as the excellent service overall. The chef also came out to the dining room to establish a personal connection which is great to see from the food industry as well. Very enjoyable night out here.
Had to wait for an unusually long time for the food but it was worth the wait. Food was delicious and we also got to hear the chef/owner serenade "Happy Birthday" to the man at the table next to us.
Nice cozy restaurant. The server was sweet and friendly, but the time it took to be served food was a bit long. The garlic bread was delicious - soft, well seasoned. However, I didn’t enjoy La Dolce Vita pizza so much.. It was nice, but a bit dry. The crust was in fact very hard. It somehow tasted a bit ‘old’. The pizza was of ordinary, not outstanding.
My friend and I had an amazing experience dining at La Dolce Vita last week. My friend eats gluten-free and was so thrilled that she had an entire menu to chose from! Her chicken parmesan looked fantastic and my manicotti was to die for. Portions were generous, our server was attentive and friendly thanks Sam!, and the chef came to see us twice to make sure we enjoyed the food. Also, we shared some GF crispy polenta bites... it's just the best starter. I will come back and bring more friends and family!
We were invited to dinner here with friends, and promptly made plans to return with family. What a wonderful dining experience! The entrance is a tricky one for those with mobility issues there's a flight of stairs to walk down, outside, and the space inside is - as they describe it - snug. However, the staff navigate the tables and patrons gracefully, and it makes the place feel warm and inviting. The patio is beautiful, and perfect for summer gatherings. Plenty of space out there, too. Inside, the space is unique and filled with interesting art work and designs. The wait staff on both occasions were absolutely lovely, very knowledgeable about the food, and good with providing updates. The time between ordering and the mains coming out is a bit longer than you'll find at many restaurants, but just consider it part of the experience, because that food is WORTH IT. Everything is prepared to perfection. "This is the best *insert meal here* I've ever had" seemed to be the most common phrase used there. Honestly though, how do you make garlic bread that tastes better than any other garlic bread? I thought all garlic bread was equal, but La Dolce Vita has proven that theory incorrect. The prices for that quality of food are very reasonable. The chef came out on our second visit, to ensure that all of the restaurant's patrons were enjoying their meals - greeting each table separately, coming out two or three times while we were there. I've never met an Italian restaurant I didn't like, but this one gets first place.
