Oscoda Lakeside Hotel

My family and I went to Lakeside Hotel is Oscoda MI, and I DO NOT recommend this hotel AT ALL! My entire family got sick, and there was a horrible mildew smell in all of the rooms and halls. On the website they said that they had a OPEN pool, hot tub, sauna, and breakfast, yet all of that was closed. There was mold INSIDE their ac, and on the bottom of their desk. None of the staff members talked to us, unless we went to the front desk of we needed something. There was also no phone to contact the front desk, like in every other hotel. This hotel is VERY unprofessional. My family and I moved hotels, and I suggest you DO NOT go there, and book somewhere else for your trip. I wouldn't even give it one star, but I have to give at least one star. Go somewhere else, this hotel has gotten many people sick from the mold.

I only give it 1 stars due to the staff being friendly but they was not professional at all. There was many missing ceiling tiles out in the hall. Our towel rack in our bathroom would not stay on the wall. I was giving my toddler a bath and noticed there was black mold on the toilet. My husband is highly allergic to molds causing him to have an reaction (at first we was wondering what was causing it but soon found the reason). The rooms are very small. They advertise a pool, hot tub and breakfast but there was no breakfast served for who knows why and the pool room was closed to repairs or so they said. The playground/beach area could use some TLC as well as the hotel needs a serious update. There was a broken step on the ladder to the slide on the playground. Sticks, trash and metal parts on the ground of the playground. I would have took pictures of the playground/beach but I had to make sure my toddler was not going to get hurt on everything laying around on the ground. There was no phone in our room. Only one ice machine was working when we was there. We would of stayed another night but ended up moving to across the road to another hotel that had what they said and was way cleaner and more professional. I will not return to this hotel. The local people who live in the area my husband talked to while fishing all said bad things about this hotel. Who knows, there could even be drug dealing going on here I honestly don't know. I am very unhappy with our stay here and will not return on our yearly visit to the area!

The rooms remind me of the Marriott rooms. Very nice. Staff is very friendly. Price was good.

Pretty decent hotel. Basically every public amenity was broken or unusable though. Stayed here twice and never really had any complaints. Prices were a little high but for a place that's right on the beach of Lake Huron you can't really get a better deal. Beds didn't have a comforter. Don't expect anything super fancy but but do expect a decent nights sleep
