Food is very delicious but quite distant from authentic Mexican. It is not spicy and you will need to pour lots of hot sauce on it. The portions were kn the smaller side but worth the money for me. Servers are nice but the pace is slow. They feel understaffed at times. However the restaurant itself is a beautiful little gem. After a second visit: service was much faster and there is added heat to the food. ALOT better. Definitely would recommend.

I've been here several times since it has opened. Cute restaurant in an older Port Moody house on Clarke St. The food is really good. I haven't had a bad meal. Service is slow at best. Generally have one server and the food generally takes 20-30 minutes to arrive for a party of 4. Less if only 2. I've gotten used to it and it's Mexican time right? That being said been noticing a decline in the cleanliness of the place. Dead flies on the window sill, cob webs hanging down from the ceiling etc. They had a really nice garden in the back yard when it opened but has not been maintained and looks awful. So much potential from this cozy restaurant but complacency is lowering the experience for the patrons. Food 4,service 3, atmosphere 4, cleanliness 2 =3.25

So 4 of us went to Originals yesterday to arrive at 5:15 to an empty restaurant, except for one table in the back and a couple sitting in a 4 seat table on the front patio. We were told to wait out front, and the expected wait would be 20 minutes. about 40 minutes later, still waiting, another couple came to the restaurant and cleared their own table and sat down without a reservation, right passed us and the waiter served them without any consideration for how long we were waiting, even though there was a 2 seat table next to them! Majority of the Restaurant was still empty, but we were told it would only be a few more minutes. after another 25 minutes (over an hour total, looking at an empty restaurant), we finally got seated in the back patio, and told the host that we were ready to order. She replied by saying she will let our server know. 15 more minutes passed, no water, or server. the same girl finally came back to take our order (she was our server!), but the restaurant had now filled with several groups. We decided due to the horrible service and wait time to leave the restaurant before ordering. As we left she had the nerve to ask use if we came to back to reserve the next time, and we could be seated faster!! really????? If you are fully booked just say so, and don't keep people waiting for hours while looking at an empty restaurant. we could have eaten and left in the time we waited with no harm to the reservations. I wouldn't waste your time here. We drove to Browns, got seated on the patio and had a drink in hand and order placed within 5 minutes.

Cool spot, really wanted to like this place, support local. Not picky or high maintenance but my handful visits left something to be desired and after today, I won't be back. I went in and ordered a coffee, they had to brew a fresh pot, no problem. After I waited 15 minutes she told me they didn't have any coffee cups and when I asked for something to swap out, i got nothing...

The three of us came in on a rainy Saturday and were seated immediately without any wait. As this was my first time here, I was immediately awestruck by the conversion of a classic PoMo residential house into a commercial restaurant. There’s even a shower head in the loo! The Original Burrito was delicious and quite filling. The guacamole & chips we had as an entrada was also to our satisfaction. Our attentive server even replenished our chips when she noticed that we still had some salsa and guacamole left over. Good food, good service, reasonable price, and a quaint ambience are all reasons why I will keep this place in mind the next time I’m in PoMo. This place is a gem!
