Orange Café

About

Café Orange is an NDG neighborhood eatery. A breakfast, lunch diner by day & resto-bar at night. We are acclaimed for our flavorful comfort food.

Story

Café Orange is now in its 15th year under the management and ownership of the same family. This is no easy feat in this day and age. There is a secret to the restaurant success. No matter the size of the gathering, you’ll find it at every table. It’s on every plate, in every glass and on every utensil. You’ll find it in everything. This key ingredient is called ‘Soul’.

Husband and wife, Jim and Georgia, opened the restaurant on June 10th 2002 as a ‘brunch’ eatery. Business quickly took off because of the irresistible combination of value and quality. Over the years, they found more and more talented servers, cooks, etc and found new ways to inspire their menu. In 2014 they welcomed Ed to the team, in order to open at night as well as during the day.

A lot has changed since those early days. However, Café Orange is filled with genuinely passionate people who love great food and drinks. The air of hospitality at Café Orange is well-known. Our booths are designed for snuggling up with friends and enjoying life! The diversity of the neighbourhood ensures that you never know who you are going to meet. You may end up in a with anybody from a lawyer to a radio host; a financial mogul to an Olympian. Since this is Quebec, “Nous sommes fiers de parler le Français aussi!”

Our cooks make nearly everything we sell, using only fresh ingredients, some organic, as the seasons allow. The restaurant specializes in breakfast food and creative comfort fare. Eggs Benedict, omelettes, pancakes, savory crepes, salads….they’re all here during the day, at reasonable prices. Come the evening, there is a delicious assortment of comfort food, wines and cocktails. This means burgers, pastas and even nachos. if you want to ‘graze’ on some light vegetarian dishes, how about a nice salad? We can even select a carefully paired glass of wine to go with on meal. If it has been a long day, maybe an ‘Old Fashioned’ or a ‘Manhattan’ is what your desire. We’re not fine dining or fast dining, but we are good “down home” dining.

So come on down to the O.C. for Food, Friends, Fun! Actually your friends are already here and they have a message for you. “First we eat and then we do everything else!”

Great food , been here a numerous amount of times for breakfast and brunch. Staff is friendly and selection of food is vast. Only negative aspect would be the waiting time (over 45 minutes) but its understandable as everybody comes for breakfast so expect to wait to be seated. Greek owner is super nice & accomodating and I love the potatoes that comes with the meals. You have to try this place, you won't be disappointed.

Loved the experience.. Was brought there by a friend who's a regular. Had a typical breakfast and it was delicious, amazing potatoes, wide choice of bread, dishes.. Service was pretty good. Cozy and nice place but looks usually crowded. Didn't try the brunches unfortunately but Orange Café is renowned for it.

Good local spot. Smoked meat dishes are good. Bustling and popular for brunch on weekends. Be prepared to wait in line if you show up anytime after 10AM, but don't be deterred, you'll be seated really soon.

This place is definitely overrated. We went there for family brunch. There was lineups. Our waiter and waitress are really nice. But the food was horrible... I got club sandwiches and that’s the worst club sandwiches I’ve ever got. Chicken inside didn’t have any flavor... The whole plate was tasteless and completely waste of money. My boyfriend’s banana pancakes with chocolate sauce was very bad too that he left more than half of his plate untouched. Not worth trying at all.

This is definitely a solid go to stop for breakfast/brunch. All of the breakfast favorites plus a large variety of egg scrambles and omelettes. Prices generally run about $15 for a pretty sizable breakfast. Would also recommend checking out this place for happy hour Thursday or Friday. Great drink specials and pretty good pub food.
