Omni New Haven Hotel at Yale

Enjoyed our stay here at the Omni hotel. Location is perfect. We enjoyed some really great dining and especially for New years eve. The staff here are wonderful and showed us a wonderful time here. We will revisit again very soon.

I can't tell why but best to leave the airconditioning on over the day so you can come in with a warm room in the evening winter period.nnWell located in New Haven with a lot of bars/restaurants near it. There is also a valet parking service which we didn't make use of. I do like the retro style interior.nnThe people who work there are very kind and helpful.nnOutside noise is heard room at 14th level on high level and this is maybe one of the most important thing to improve.nnBathroom looks good however a mirror on front of the toilet maybe to be moved a bit aside as this looks awkward.

My husband and I booked this hotel 3 weeks in advance for a 3-night stay. The day of arrival, they called us around 8:30 pm confirming that we were still coming and my husband confirmed we were and that our ETA was 12:30 am as we were driving up from VA. We actually arrived an hour earlier than expected, but only to discover that they sold our room to someone else and were completely booked up for the night. They said we could stay one night at another hotel a couple blocks away and they would comp it. So after a long day of travel, my husband and I had to walk our 10-week old baby to the other hotel. We then learned that while our one night was comped at the other hotel, Omni would need us to check back in with them the next afternoon. The problem with this, though, was that my husband would be working all day, so how was I supposed to move all of our stuff and our baby to Omni all by myself? And what was I supposed to do for the 4-5 hours between check-out and check-in? The forecast was 100% cold rain for the entire next day. The staff at Omni didn't seem to understand what the issue was... Finally, after several hours and phone calls, Omni refunded us our entire 3-night stay with them and the other hotel booked us at the same rate as we had previously. Still, I do NOT appreciate our room being sold even though we had confirmed, and we also had our baby listed on the reservation. The resolution took way too long to be handled in my opinion, and I would've appreciated a little more empathy throughout the whole ordeal.

Great rooms and service. Very hi classic. Very service oriented staff. The location in downtown New Haven is good for the great restaurants and proximity to Yale but the area is also a bit shady so you need to be alert.

Enjoyed my stay here. The nightly rate was reasonable, the proximity to Yale was as good as it gets, the rooms were clean and lobby space inviting, and the staff were friendly. I especially enjoyed the bartender Dan I think, who was kind and said enough but not too much. The poutine w/ short rib was delicious.
