Courtyard by Marriott New Haven at Yale

Came to New Haven for a quick visit and stayed the night here. Our experience with the bartender, Amanda— she was outstanding! Very kind and went above and beyond. While she admitted to being new behind the bar, you can tell that she truly enjoys it and loves where she works! Speaks volumes regarding the management. Rooms were satisfactory; I left 4 stars as I would have loved in-room body lotion.

Pros: The staff are really friendly and helpful. Room was nice. Breakfast at The Bistro was good. Walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Walking distance to parts of the Yale campus, but a pretty far walk to some of it. For example, I needed to be at the School of Management and it was a 20 minute walk, which was okay because the weather was nice. On a cold day I would have to drive.nCons: $25/night to park. No continental breakfast. No *good* complimentary coffee. Neighborhood is okay, it's a little off the beaten path if you're a woman walking at night. Hard to get a good night sleep - it's very noisy. Lots if sirens. If your room is on the back side you can smell smoke from the smokers outside. Lots of ambient light shining into the room. Lastly, when my neighbors were showering the pipes were banging so loudly I couldn't hear my TV - I think the building needs some upgrading.

Stayed for just two night last week for a work trip. Tiffany at the Bistro was by far the top customer service I’ve received in quite some time. So polite, personable, & professional. She is a true gem and should be promoted. 5 stars!!

Great spot with clean, nice rooms, in a great location in downtown New Haven. Quick access to Yale, restaurants, bars, and shopping. Parking garage on site. There is a café in the lobby which serves coffee and other small snacks, a small shop for water or other necessities, and a laundry. The service was pleasant and accommodating.

My family and I stayed here three separate times while my mother was hospitalized, and each visit was marked by extraordinary kindness and care from every member of the staff.nnThe front desk team—especially Andrew and Michelle—were incredibly gracious, compassionate, and attentive. When I fell ill with COVID during our stay, they went above and beyond, helping me in the middle of the night with ibuprofen and hot tea. Their thoughtfulness meant the world to me.nnThe bartenders, too, treated us with such tenderness and genuine warmth, creating a sense of comfort when we needed it most. I was so out of sorts one day that I misplaced my wedding rings, and the head housekeeper personally helped locate and return them to me—a gesture I will never forget.nnThrough one of the most difficult times in my life, including the loss of my mother, the entire staff showed us nothing but grace, empathy, and professionalism. This hotel isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a place filled with heart. I am forever grateful to the team at the Courtyard Marriott Yale for their care, compassion, and humanity.
