Olde Yorke Fish & Chips

Hands down best fish and chips in town. Loved both the Cod and the haddock. Onion rings were superb. Please note they don’t take reservations and weekends get super busy, but it’s absolutely worth the wait.nI’ll be back again whenever I crave some fish and chips. Try their key lime pie, I bet you can’t put the spoon down

This place is a classic for fish and chips.nBeen going for 20 years. Yesterday we decided to try something new and got the scallops and chips and the cod cheeks and chips. The cod cheeks were delicious. Small meaty bites in their nice crispy batter.nBut the scallops were not only tiny and all batter but they were also very soggy. We won’t order them again but we still love this place. The only thing we found very strange is that when you substitute a salad for your fries. It’s a $3.50 up charge which is expected but for some reason, you lose your coleslaw. Which is absolutely ridiculous cause who can eat fish and chips without the coleslaw… lol.nOlde yorke. Please fix this! It’s not only sad but very weird and hard for your servers to have to have that awkward conversation with everyone that prefers a salad over fries…

We got the Fish Sandwich $18.50 and Halibut & Chips $23.50. The fries were fantastic. The fish was fresh, flaky and delicious. Service was nice too. I highly recommend this place for a nice plate of fish and chips!

Had take out twice: We have found our perfect onion rings! Giant onion rings lightly battered, so lightly battered that each bite created an earth shattering crunch. Absolutely gorgeous dipped in malt vinegar. The halibut. The dear halibut, so velvety and flaky cradled within the golden batter. A decent trifle, and mushy peas would embrace some seasoning. Disappointingly, the calamari did not meet expectation, as it left quite a fishy aftertaste. I had hoped a chip place would have better chips, as the chips were overly cooked; to where the chips were dry. The atmosphere sets the perfect pub like ambiance. The packaging is excellent for take-out where the paper ware lets food stay crisp.

Had lunch with my wife and 2 boys. We ordered 3 of the Halibut and Chip and 1 order of the Chicken Caesar Salad.nThe service was pretty good, as was the freshness of each plate.nWife loved the salad. Myself and the boys each finished our plates. Usually when this happen it means that food is very good and tasty. Great texture for the halibut.nWill definitely try this resturant again in the future.
