Every dish from starters to mains was well-prepared, showcasing the chef's skill.nnService was a strong point too. Staff were attentive, ensuring a smooth dining experience without overwhelming us. Their suggestions helped us navigate the menu effectively.nnA special mention goes to the owner, Ester, who took the time to chat with us. This gesture made our visit feel more personal and showed their dedication to guests' experiences. She even sang happy birthday and brought out the cake herself. The chef made us a special dessert platter, really making the end of the night special.nnOverall, dining at Old Avenue was memorable, largely due to the combination of good food, service, and the owner's personal touch. It's a place worth returning to, promising not just a meal but a welcoming atmosphere.

OMG! This place did not disappoint. The flavour moist lamb chops chicken lamb kabobs rice cabbage rolls andndumplings that contained broth.nThe flat bread with the dips so fresh!nYou have to come here

Oh My Gosh where do I even start. The food, for one, was FANTASTIC. We started with the mixed appetizer, which came with some of the best in house baked bread i’ve ever had. Next my dad and I shared the cottage cheese blinchis which were delicate and perfectly crisp on the outside but soft and creamy on the inside. For my main I had the Uzbek Plov with lamb. The lamb was fall off the bone delicious, and the Plov was sooooo well seasoned. I also tried my parent’s kebabs which were perfectly cooked! I will admit I ate WAY too much but the food is so good it’s hard to resist. For dessert we split the Baklava and the Kunefe, which I must say the Kunefe was the winning dish of the night. Absolutely perfection.nThe service was great too! Our server was super chill, polite, and well versed in the menu. He was also super patient with my mom’s ingredient related questions and got answers for her directly from the kitchen!nThe atmosphere was one of my favourite parts of the place. The cutest amalgamation of vintage and eccentric decor whoever decorated has a fantastic eye for it and a warm/cozy environment!nOverall, a wonderful night all around! 10/10!

What an amazing restaurant! The owner makes things lively and the service is great. Highly recommend, especially for birthdays.nnSome of the many foods we enjoyed here: mixed appetizers, meat blintzes, khachapuri, beef kebab with grilled veg. The tea was also lovely and it stays heated over a candle.

Took my partner for the birthday celebration. I was having high hopes and craving for Azerbaijani dishes after seeing the reviews, but I really got disappointed after the visit. We ordered kutabs, georgian khinkali, shah plov and lula kababs. Shah plov was the worst one I have had. We barely found meat inside, it was just rice and dough. Kutabs and Georgian khinkalis were too small for the price and taste was ok. And lula kabab with homemade potatoes??? This restaurant would never survive with this kind of kebab in any Caucasian countries. And are those “homemade potatoes” frozen McCain??nDefinitely wouldn’t visit again and recommend to anyone who wants to taste authentic Azerbaijani or Caucasian food!
