I spent 2 days here. I cannot really express how wonderful the entire staff was. Very caring! I was terrified about my surgery but they ALL worked as a team and made me so comfortable. After care on the 4th floor was amazing. Best bunch anyone could ask for. Thanks to Dr Patel and the whole staff.
My mom got back surgery December 2022. The patient care here is AWFUL. They were not bringing her the pain meds she needed every 4 hours. My mom was screaming in pain and was yelling “help me” and it would be literally hours until a nurse came. When the nurses did come, they were so cold and careless. I had to search the halls for nurses to find help. They claimed they were “busy” but all the rooms next to my moms down that hallway were empty. A hospital should never be too busy to give a patient their scheduled meds. I felt so helpless asking for help and being turned away every single time with them saying “we’ll be right there.” As a literal hour goes by. I just hope this surgery helps my mom the way it needs to so all this pain and suffering wasn’t for nothing.
My mom came to this facility for rehab after she had heart surgery. Mom had a negative COVID result upon entering the facility. A week later mom contracted COVID from someone in the facility. They kicked her out the same day because they said it was a COVID free facility but mom got COVID from one of their workers. I then got COVID from mom.
Excellent facility right down to the staff from the moment I walked in for my neck surgery to the moment I was discharged, I was very well taken care of! We drove almost 2hrs away and glad we did! Clean, friendly staff! Third shift was a little bumpy, but you'll have that problem anywhere you go! Thank you for taking care of me and keeping me comfortable and side note the food was fantastic!
I’ve had a few surgeries in my 60 years of life, some of them while serving 22 years in the US Army within a Forward Surgical Team FST and I’ve never seen such an efficiently run surgical center with such a knowledgeable and caring staff. These folks are like a well oiled machine, everything just runs efficiently and effectively. Dr Samual Sampson is such a thorough surgeon and if you leave his office with any unanswered questions then you must not have listened as he explains everything thoroughly and in complete detail. Highly recommended.
I had surgery at Surgeons Choice Medical Center in Southfield on January 7, 2021. I have no complaints about the care I received, or the various individuals involved before, during or after my surgery. They were all very competent, professional and caring. The reason for my one star review has to do with their billing practices. I was over billed $1100 towards my deductible. Since my insurance had changed slightly since its renewal on January 1st, I did not catch the error until March. Surgeons Choice never contacted me about the overpayment, but quickly saw the error and said I was due a refund. It is now mid September and, after multiple phone calls, discussions, escalations and endless waiting, I’ve yet to see a check. I finally have resorted to sending an email to the Attorney General’s office to try to get my money back. I have never before encountered anything like this with a legitimately run business/facility and it’s quite upsetting. If I hadn’t caught the error, I’m pretty confident they would have kept my money.
Ambush visitor restrictions . Doesn’t inform family of visitor limitations that could affect the emotional stress levels of the elderly, and keeping them isolated despite the vaccination status of her family, most of whom are elderly and want to keep their loved one feeling secure and not imprisoned.
Trying to receive a refund due to overpayment next to impossible. They agree there was an overpayment made but are not issuing the check. We are referred back and forth to different departments. Talked to someone today who was definitely working from home because children were very loud in background. The center itself I would rate 5 star but financially is definitely a 1.
In February 11, 2020, I had surgery on my shoulder rotor cuff. When I walked in the door at 5:50 am, I was greeted with a smile by the woman at the front desk. The Patient Access Representative was so pleasant, assured me I was going to fine by telling me about her surgery experience. When Nurse Tiffany came and got me from the waiting room to get me prepared for surgery I was a nervous reck. Everything she did she explained why she was doing it which every step claimed me down a little. The anesthesia team was AWESOME! They made sure I was comfortable with and without medication. Then my angel Dr. K. Anderson’s appears, he is a very Great doctor he told me things to do after surgery to make sure I’m in less pain doing my recovery. The center was clean and comfortable. There courtesy water coffee and tea which was stocked for patient’s guest in the waiting room. Awesome place to have surgery
Great place!!! Had carpal tunnel surgery November 12, 2020 absolutely a wonderful hospital, great nurses and the anesthesiologist great guy listen to me about getting sick after having anesthesia, and this was the first surgery I’ve had and never got sick. Dr. Singer is the best. I give everyone a five star from start to finish.
