Havenwyck Hospital

I was there this past week, at first I did not want to be there and I had a panic attack and tried really hard to get them to let me leave but during my panic attack the third shift nurse in D Unit named Simone was a tremendous help and was like a mother to me the first night to get me to calm down it worked. After two and a half days of detoxing and withdrawing from alcohol I felt better and realized so much and that this place was NEEDED for me and spent 6 days in there and everyone was so helpful. Momma Elaine :) made the nights fun and helpful “Becky With the Good hair” I am home now and I’m extremely happy that I was sent here. If I have another problem I would not hesitate to go back in. They changed my life for the better thank you HavenWyck staff for your help and caring words.

How are you gonna hold someone past their court date, tell them "You can worry about it later" & not even give them release papers to go back to work? The staff here is so unprofessional and mistreats the HELL out the patients. Like they aren't human or something! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. The only good part about it is the food. Also. They told me I would be in there 5 days. As the days went on they kept saying 5. When I was released I saw that I WAS ACTUALLY KEPT FOR 2 WEEKS. They lied and now I'm facing the consequences with court and my job. :/

This place is clean and friendly. There are a lot of exciting daily plans and the doctors are helpful and they listen to your concerns. I would prefer Havenwyck to any of the four other hospitals I've been to.

My son has been there for three days and I spoke with a social worker named Jessica, no last name was given by her. She stated that she would be available by phone to address my concerned yet all I get is a voicemail when I call her. Maybe the department of psychiatry or the department of health and human services should know about their insurance practices, as well as the insurance commissioner in Michigan.

(CHILD WING) Doctor and social worker communication was extremely poor. Never could get a call back. I would suggest a different child-intake facility.. Honestly, look into different hospitals first because if you need a transfer, the Havenwyck staff will not send paperwork, and will fail to communicate that. They will also threaten to call cps, due to their own lack of competence to do their jobs.
