Newly opened and absolutely delicious. I live in the building so when I saw a new Italian place I knew I had to try it. The atmosphere is so authentic and homey so of course I trusted their recommendation. They suggested the rigatoni and it was delicious. So glad I tried this place and can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu.
I felt chef’s enthusiasm in the delicious pasta. The Gnocchi was probably the best pasta I had this year. It had a nice texture and fresh creamy pesto flavour. Don’t forget to order a side of bread to NOT to waste the delicious sauce!
My go to place when I want to take a day off from cooking. Love supporting this local Italian gem. Food from this little eatery reminds me of when my mama prepared rustic, homey, but exciting dishes, bursting with flavour. When I think pasta, I think Nonna’s Cucina. There is nothing pretentious about the meals but myyyyyGaaaawd!!…so good. To make things even better, the owner is über warm and welcoming. We recommend this Italian eatery and visit it ourselves often. Delicious!
Best Italian food I had in Vancouver. It’s comparable to Italy. Gnocchi was my favourite pasta followed by pappardelle. Food was perfectly balanced. Must go! Service was amazing as well. Ricotta filled pastry was excellent to finish the night.
Tried this new Italian place and it is absolutely delicious! Portions are the perfect size. If you order like we did, you can easily share the whole pasta menu between 4 people and be well-fed but not loathing yourself. This is not your typical take-out place, the food here is top-notch. Highly recommended!! Next, we will be going back to try all the sandwiches :
My husband and I came to this Italian restaurant and tried their pasta and panini before. They were phenomenal that we had to come back and try something else for dinner tonight. We were lucky to meet with the business owner Joe tonight. He was great! He was super friendly, introduced the specials and recommended what we should order. I loveeeee their pasta as its firmness was about right that it was not too hard or too soft. The most impressive thing was the sauce. I asked for the meat or Italian sausage for the sauce because I love meat. The portion of meat was just right that it would not be too much to overkill the dish. The portion and quality of the sauce was just right for the dish. I almost wanted to lick the dish at the end Their sandwiches or paninis were soooo good. The one with sausage and fried potatoes was super unique that we wouldn’t think of sandwiches with potatoes. The potatoes were fried or baked, so they were crispy outside but super soft inside!! I highly recommended Joe to make their crispy and soft potatoes as a side dish! The sausage was big and juicy and I did not feel it was too fatty. I personally don’t like fatty and greasy sausages. I tried pastas from different Italian or pizza restaurants but nothing could beat this one! I highly recommended Nonna’s Cucina to others. People who read my reviews don’t really have to trust what I say here BUT you should definitely try the pasta and sandwiches yourselves. Then you can tell if they are good.
After a very rough couple of weeks, I was in dire need of some much-needed comfort food. By a sheer stroke of dumb luck, I happened to stumble upon such greatness and trekked across the city to give them a shot. At first glance, you wonder how a small space such as this can greet you with the most heavenly smells and produce award-winning food. However, all you have to do is go to the counter and be greeted like a regular, even though this is your first time here. Upon ordering, the anticipation sets in, and after the first bite, you know you’ve met greatness. As not only is this the best meal I have ever had in the city but it is also reasonably priced and made with love. I’d love to keep this place a secret and all to myself, but if you ever find yourself in the neighborhood and in need of the best meal you will ever have in your life, look no further!
I came here on a Saturday night to grab some takeout and it was fantastic. First off, all the employees were very friendly, kind, and enthusiastic. Would definitely say awesome service. Then there was the food. I got the rigatoni and pomodoro with meatballs. Both were really good, but I liked the rigatoni more because it was more flavourful more tangy I'd say. Needless to say, I'll definitely be back Vegetarian options: I saw many vegetarian options in terms of the pasta as well as vegetarian paninis.
Blasted into heaven with this gnocchi. Such a unique sauce. The combination of fennel and pistachio is so creative, magical, and perfect. The service is also wonderful; it’s a small space but they set up a table for me and also for two ladies who came after me. I was also generously given a beautiful cannoli to take home, on the house. I haven’t had it yet because I want the flavours of the gnocchi to live in my mouth for a little while longer first. But I’m sure it’ll be delicious. Thank you so much, I will be back soon!
Had an absolutely phenomenal experience at Nonna’s Cucina. I would highly recommend eating here. Fresh and delicious food, friendly and helpful staff, and ultimately if you’re looking for traditional Italian food to go, this is the place to go. They also have a few seats to eat in house and are also featured on the delivery platforms. Bravo.
