Went there on a quite Saturday evening. Nice cozy space; very good service. The foods were delicious only with a bit heavier taste just because I eat lighter flavor. When we mentioned this the our server, they came with a complimentary focaccia right away to balance out the flavor of the dishes. Really appreciate their attentiveness. For the dessert, we got the Chocolate Mousse Cake, and it was definitely a grand finale of the meal
Our journey to La Tana was a little accident - we were actually looking for a place that has crepes, and somehow ended up looking up La Tana thinking they may have it. We were wrong, but we are so glad we tumbled over here. Living around Seattle, our trip to La Tana is always about 3 hours to get here. Is it worth trip? The early morning wake up, the drive, the border crossing? Yes. This place makes food with love. We once saw Chef Vish come out to the table by the window to take a photo of a dish he just created, and then asked us how that same dish tastes we were eating it. He then would go on to say how wonderful to cook with those mushrooms he had available, as it was the season for it, and how wonderful it was that they were available within the area. Instantly, it clicked to us that he is serious about his craft. The place is an ordinary looking neighborhood cafe, it sells many merchandise of small items, bread, imported goods, pasta noodles, coffee, serving like a cafe. Then you have tables and kitchen ready for patrons to dine in on their food, albeit the place is on the small side. The food, however, is anything but ordinary. It is extraordinary. We came here more than 10 occasions over the span of 3 years traveling back and forth between the border, and they never disappointed us. They have wonderful selections of food to choose from, their specials change every week and they bring out seasonal dishes to try, we highly recommend them. We always felt greeted and welcomed, that feeling of belonging there and having a good time enjoying the food was always there, it is remarkable. Often at the level of dining and food you would experience from La Tana, you can often experience some level of formality, or standard procedure sort of dining experience. Not here. We felt like we lived right next door, popping in for our weekend brunch fix. So if you live nearby and do not have to travel 3 hours to come here, you are lucky. La Tana is a gem that any neighborhood would be lucky to call it a local place. Give them a visit.
An absolutely beautiful restaurant. Friendly service and great food! Spaghetti is amazing, best meatball we’ve had this year! Tiramisu is divine! They also sell freshly in-house made pasta! Happy hour cocktail is excellent too! We really enjoyed dining here, good price, awesome food! Can’t ask for more.
Classy European-style café, serving some absolutely delicious, freshly made pasta! We ordered 3 plates to share, and honestly loved everything. The texture of the pasta is perfect as it should, and the flavours of the sauces bring me back to Italy. My favourite today was the Orecchiette Pomodoro—savoured every single bite! The Fettuccine Alfredo was a close second. Also have to mention, our server was so warm and friendly! Will definitely be revisiting and recommending others!
LOVED this little spot so much! The service was great, they could accommodate us with meal from the dinner menu even if we were a little early. Real italian cuisine, and at a good price, delicious! And the decor is just amazing, wow!!
We had a great time at Cafe La Tana. We also love Pepino’s so we were thrilled to learn that you can order from both menus. The pastas and salads were delicious and you CANNOT miss this tiramisu. Honestly almost ordered two. The ambiance is great, the service was lovely, and the food was really yummy!
Delicious pasta of the day, check their instagram for what it is before going. The prawns were cooked perfectly. The prosciutto is good, but super salty so make sure you get some bread to go with it. Service is attentive and friendly. The host at the front speaks Italian, which is a good complement to how delicious this meal was, almost transporting you back to Italy.
Lovely happy hour drinks and snacks. The whipped ricotta crostini, were literally one of the best things I've ever eaten. Crisp, creamy, savory and sweet. Amazing. We'll definitely be back.
We tried to get a table at the restaurant next door and ended up at La Tana for wine and appetizers. Had the most delicious focaccia with ricotta, honey, and black truffle paired with an organic wine! The ambience is very nice. Will definitely be back!
Very unique cafe in an old building serving tasty Italian foods. Service was great.
