I took my older guitar to them to be restrung and possibly repaired. They were very polite and accommodating and restrung the instrument while I waited, about 20 minutes. While waiting they had to deal with a drunkard who had his guitar repaired and they were very accommodating, even listening to his tales of woe over &over. My instrument was cleaned and restrung, so I made other purchases as well. Wonderful service for me just dropping in and most importantly the price was reasonable....they also took good care of the somewhat obnoxious other person with equal kindness. This is the type of people & place I want to deal with always.
I just bought my second guitar here and once again I am grateful for and impressed by the knowledgeable staff and instrument selection! Shout out to Tanner for answering all my questions, helping me find the right instument and accessories. I always enjoy shopping here and bantering with the staff who are enthusiastic to help their customers on their musical endeavors. Good people, good prices, good business!
I came here on a regular basis in the 80s and 90s as my parents were big into bluegrass music. I hadn't been there since, but today we were in the market for an autoharp and, lo and behold, Myhre's music had one in stock. When we went in we were greeted by Byron and Alfie. Byron is hilarious and friendly, while Alfie is a treasure trove of knowledge. Combined, the two of them made for an amazing experience. Our young children are just starting to get into music and, if they take a liking to string instruments, I know where I'll be turning.
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. I needed a fiddle to rent for just a week while visiting Edmonton. It was the easiest process to contact them, pick up and return. Definitely an instrument shop I will be returning to next time I am in the city.
This is THE place local musicians go for guitars, tune ups and more! Always a great experience, I'm really happy with my recent Martin Guitar purchase at the store, Byron and family are just the best!
Great music store. Wide variety of stringed instruments and friendly knowledgeable staff. Special Thanx to Byron for help on my Banjo purchase. I'm lovin' it.
The Myhre's family never fails to deliver! Such excellent customer service and advice. Love my new Seagull mandolin made in Canada a truly well built and "crisp" instrument! Oh and the new fiddle is no slouch either.
Byron at Myhre’s Music is amazing! I always get great service and value here for my students and family. I highly recommend this local shop!
I cannot say enough how much I appreciate and value the amazing people who own and operate Myhre's Music. I have been a patron here for well over a decade and always look forward to visiting the shop. This is a grassroots, family owned business and it shows in the way they strive to form real lasting relationships with their customers. I recommend Myhre's Music wholeheartedly and feel blessed to have been supported by the over them years. Don't hesitate to give them your business. You will not be disappointed.
I am a senior and I wanted to buy a banjo. always wanted to learn to play one. I extensively researched banjos over several months and decided on a Deering Goodtimemade in the USA.. I contacted Myhre's Music Store in Edmonton and talked with Byron Myhre. He was a joy to talk to and I was impressed with his knowledge on banjos and his interest in my wish to learn to play the banjo. I was unable to get to Edmonton to pick up the banjo and Byron offered free shipping to my location. He called me later and said that he would be in my area in a couple of days and asked if I wanted him to deliver the banjo. Yes!! I was really excited about that generous offer. He met me in the parking lot of a local store and he took the extra time to explain all about the banjo and even played a little tune right there in the parking lot. He gave new meaning to customer service. I am thankful that I dealt with Byron and will continue to go to Myhre's for any accessories that I require for my banjo. Just gotta learn how to play it now!!! Thanks Byron!! Best regards. Brian Titus
