A real Japanese small family run restaurant. Ramen is excellent - the soup is thick, rich and in good texture. I don’t feel thirsty after finish the soup. Waitress is very friendly, helpful and attentive. Definitely go again restaurant.
Accidentally discovered this place while walking around the neighborhood. They have nice patio but a tight inside sitting area. We tried the curry style ramen, and it was my first time trying it and I wasn’t disappointed but would not go for the same a second time, good to try it once but nothing beats the original ramen. Ajitama ramen was nice but I have had better ramen at other places. An overall solid 3-3.5 stars, coz i liked the hospitality.
Probably the Best Ramen in the City….amazing local and intimate space with talented chef and crew. One inclusive price on all items tax and tip. Exceptional quality and execution for this price point. Very cool resto that truly embodies what a neighbourhood destination should be.
Delicious food but uncomfortable seating. Great to be able to add healthy vegetables to anything. Unfortunately, the eggs are always served cold. I've eaten here 3 times now. Be sure to ask for the excellent no-alcohol Godspeed iced tea in 3 flavours.Food: 4/5
This ramen joint just off Dundas Street West has both a front patio as well as indoor seating. Noodles are made in-house and have great chewy texture - thinner and not as wavy as other noodles, but with a great taste. The Ajitama Musoshin Ramen had a light but flavourful broth, with enough broth for the kaedama second round of noodles. In fact, if you eat ramen at home, you can buy their fresh ramen to take home! $2 for one serving, with 5 servings for $9.50. With vegan and gluten-free menu options to check out. A great addition to Toronto's ramen scene.
One of my new favourite ramen places! Came on a chilly evening and the food really warmed us up! We got: karaage, ajitama musoshin ramen, and musoshin ramen red spice level 1-10. For the red ramen, I asked if they could do level 11 spicy and it was PAWFECT. My hooman thought it was too spicy though, so I would suggest asking for a lower heat level if you don’t want to be panting like a dog. Pros: broth was doglicious, a mix of pork and veg broths, which made it creamy without being too thick and not too salty. Portions were filling. The red ramen came with beef tenderloin, which was interesting and different from the usual charsiu topping. The karaage was well-seasoned, very crispy on the outside and super juicy on the inside. Good selection of teas and beers. Cons: it’s a really adogable space but it’s small, so there may be a bit of a wait! Overall: 5 woofs out of 5. Tail-wagging-good!
2022 September 4 A small Japanese restaurant on the west side. Tables for about 14 or so with patio seating during the warmer months. Open kitchen and welcoming staff. Shokupan $6 The bread was nice, fluffy and a bit chewy as expected. Would come back to try the ramen.
When Musoshin opened during the pandemic, they were running almost entirely a takeout window and occasional summer patio space, and even though we couldn't eat indoors, it was always such a joy to eat here. Even with takeout, we were able to fully enjoy the meal! And now being able to eat indoors and experience the warm cozy ambience and great service, is even better! Their ramen is not like any other in the city... Their broth is complex, noodles are freshly made in house, and toppings are a bit unique as well. They also offer vegan and vegetarian options, as well as non-ramen dishes. And a wide array of delicious Japanese desserts, with seasonal ones that rotate in throughout the year. Highly recommend their Original Musoshin Ramen and their Karaage! Their space is small so if you plan to come with a group larger than 5, consider calling and making a reservation! We trek all the way here from King West and it's soooo worth it! We're loyal regular customers now, and for a reason
Both indoor and outdoor seating! The service was very friendly and attentive, wonderfully done. The ramen was expensive for a relatively small portion. We got a $17 bowl with only 2 pieces of meat. However it was well made, fresh and the noodles were bouncy. Not extremely salty. I would say just note the price, but it’s definitely worth coming to enjoy on a sunny day. They also sell shokupan inside which looked great.
Really wanted to like this place after seeing it on the Michelin Guide, but I found it nothing to write home about. It's a small, cozy spot - probably better for smaller parties but our group of five was seated right away when we arrived at noon on a very snowy day. Service was friendly and efficient. Karaage was pretty good, takoyaki was decent. Ordered three different ramen to share and they were all alright. The Ajitama Musoshin and Chashu-men were both nice and flavorful, but I found the Kyoto white miso vegan tasted too strongly of soy milk. Pork chashu and ramen eggs were all cooked well. However, the tonkatsu we ordered on the side was overcooked and dry. The vegan curry rice had a strong cinnamon taste, and the portion was quite small. Ended our meal with their strawberry mochi, which I quite enjoyed.
