Ikune by Apres

Bad Service! Wouldn't recommend. Yesterday at dinner time, we were the second group of guests who placed the order with some oysters and drinks and ONE duck breast. The duck breast did come after more than 30 minutes; interestingly, other guests who came later than us got their meals. No servers seemed to care to check that for us this whole time. When we reached out to the waitress about this, she kept saying "It's coming~" but nothing came within the next 5 minutes. So we decided to cancel the duck breast and take the bill because we had to go to a concert. The waiter then showed up and asked us to stay for another 20 seconds for the duck to be ready. When we insisted to cancel that and leave, the waiter threw the bill on the table, which was extremely rude, and did not ask how we would like to pay. These two servers' services were at best unprofessional and at worst discriminatory! Please also note this, if you order a coke, they will give you a glass with lots of ice and approximately 100ml coke in it. Plus if you want a refill for the coke, be ready to pay for that.

Some of my fav items from Ikune / Apres Wine Bar are: Shrimp Sando and Blue fin tuna chirashi don Perfectly fried shrimp and cabbage slaw nestled in fluffy white bread. A simple sandwich with perfect execution. I love the contrast in textures between the crunchy fried goodness and the soft bread . @apreswinebar wine bar serves up its Ikune menu, you can order sushi, sashimi bowls, sandwiches and some bbq items. Don’t forget to order cocktails or with your snacks, just so you can digest and eat some more I haven’t been back in a while to try their new dishes. I absolutely should do that soon

I’ve been getting the chirashi takeout from here since the beginning of the pandemic. Finally came for dinner and enjoyed it very much. For the two of us, we got the sashimi platter, the mackerel, a truffle tuna roll, dumplings, ebi katsu sando. The sashimi is always super fresh and all the dishes are unique and tasty would order everything again! My fav was the mackerel app, excellent balance of flavours from the fish and wakami salad. The dumpling came in a thick ramen like broth and it paired well with the dumplings. The bread on the sando a tad dry but the sandwich was still very tasty, the ebi is a nice change from the transitional pork sando that feels much heavier. I’ve visited serval times before when it was apres and service has always excellent, can’t wait to come back.

Food was amazing and the service was fantastic!! Would definitely come back again.

I liked the vibes of this place... looks pretty and the bench seatings are great for groups. They have a vast selection of wines. The service was really good - they were helpful wine choices, food recommendations and attentive. Food wise - I really like the beef tartare, the homemade ricotta with the bread, and the beech mushrooms. I wasn’t a fan of the fried chicken - but if you’re into spicy, you’ll probably like it. I’m interested in coming back and trying their brunch offerings.

We hope to dine at Apres again someday, but their Ikune takeout is a great and high quality option in the neighborhood. For a 10/10 meal, order the ramen, fried chicken, and a bottle of sake. Sushi is also superb; order it the next night to pair with any leftover sake or try another bottle! And make sure to order the dessert!

I loved the food!!! Each dish was very tasty. Nice atmosphere, kind servers and good selection of wines. I don’t know much about wine but as a foodie it was a real treat. Had a pleasant evening, will definitely be visiting again!

The new place to eat on Queen West. Had this massive tasting menu which was great value. Cornish hen was huge. Also enjoyed the pasta and fried chicken. Amazing wine selection. Highly recommend.

A real winner here. A fantastic experience tasting and drinking some of the most energetic and unique wines in the west end. The food...the food though. A casual, high-quality, and serene environment greet patrons. Lighting is well thought-out, as is ambient volume. This is a place to sit and take time, with wine -of course. The staff appreciates the liquid as much as anyone and the passion shows in elegant but highly responsive service. I hope people will come to appreciate the value in some of their selections; the bottles are not easy to find and upon opening, special. I don't always give out 5 stars, but when I do, there's bang-for-buck. We will be back.

I was really looking forward to experiencing Apres Wine, especially after dining at Canis. The evening started out spectacularly. Service was top notch in the beginning. Dishes throughout the evening were exceptional. Explosive flavours and beautiful presentation. We had the tasting menu, added two dishes, and included the wine pairing. Wine was delish. As the evening progressed, the service declined. We were celebrating a major milestone and the experience ended on a low note.
