Nice variety of simple yet solid household goods and clothes. As others have mentioned some items seem overpriced vs prices for similar goods elsewhere. However many other goods seem to be priced reasonably. Prices in other regions are actually on many labels and a quick google search shows that some prices in Canada are actually less than in the UK, Europe and the USA.

nice store with lots of good design, but lots of goods are double of what they sell in Japan. If an item is 1500 yen, what's the reason that it will go for $29 Cdn?

They don't stand behind their products at all. If I'm being charged $9 for a plastic soap dispenser I could get at IKEA for 79 cents (in glass at that), that's fine if I like it better, all else being equal. The difference is IKEA will return a defective product or one that breaks too quickly. At Muji it's a final sale, or sometimes 30 days for manufacturing defects only. That's just not good enough.
I'm sad because Muji has some really nice looking products. But I can't buy expensive items from a company that won't stand behind them.

its exciting to have a muji open in vancouver. a nice store with a pretty aesthetic to it... stationery is great but all the other items tend to be much pricier

In Metrotown, the most overwhelming place in the Lower Mainland, Muji is so refreshing. First of all, as the rest of the mall smells like BO and old farts, the aromas of this place alone is worth a stop-by. Plus it's ridiculously organized and their items are beautiful. For all those complaining about price, all the items I've bought at Muji are top quality and definitely worth it. Sure, a 20-piece cutlery set at Wal-Mart will cost you half, but that's just the way it is. Branding + Style + Quality = more dollars.
Honestly, Muji is a refreshing thing to have in Vancouver!
