Food is good, service is good and overall is good. However, is not yet a 5 Stars. If they could focus a bit more on the details, I will definitely give them a 5 Stars. Went there once in the summer and felt like no a/c, very hot. This time in the winter, very cold and I don't feel any heat at all. My feet were frozen cold after the meal. Parking: A very busy mall with limited numbers of parking. Prepare that you need to fight for a parking space.
The owner is one of the best people I’ve met. While we were waiting, a group of customers paid their bills and didn’t leave for 30 mins after they’re done eating. And when they finally left the owner felt so guilty and he offered us a dish for free and he refused to take our tips too at the end, he apologized and were so nice to us when it’s not even his fault. Honestly exceptional customer service and all the dishes that we ordered was simply amazing. Would recommend this place to everyone I know.
Great food, decent price. Only losing 1-star due to cleanliness, but otherwise would definitely recommend. Standouts would be the beef tartare and kimchi fried rice. Everything else was solid. Skewers were a bit on the sweet side. Definitely coming back!
It was great, sadly when we got the deep fried shrimp full order after she placed it, about 30secs later it fell over on to the ground. Small joint that the food has just something that made it taste so good. I loved the udon, the cheesy chicken, and the beef tartar. Everything else was good! It was a good experience. I do recommend have a soju and enjoy the moment with your friends while eating there. Luckily when we got there it wasn't that long of a wait time.
Finally made my way to Mr. Bro after trying the other Korean fares on Alexandra Road. I'm so surprised at the high ratings given by other patrons. Many patrons wore their coats during lunch as it was quite cold there. Seating was prompt but we had a little wait for our order to be taken. The food was served quite quickly, but the dishes were not very flavourful. The japchae are mostly sweet and not savoury enough, you can tell from the picture the marinade is unevenly mixed and some noodles are darker than others. The noodles stick to each other, making it hard to eat. The bibimbap was unflavorful, and mostly rice. I was very disappointed with this dish as I've had better bibimbap in food courts near by. The stone bowl was not hot enough to make the rice crunchy or crispy, but it was very chewy.
Mr. Bro Korean restaurant & Izakaya is a must-visit for everyone who enjoys Korean cuisine. The dinner was so excellent that there are no words to describe it. The menu offers a wide range of delectable Korean dishes, and the staff is eager to ensure that your visit is a pleasant one. I strongly advise making reservations as soon as possible because they get booked fast. I definitely will be coming back, and after your meal, you'll receive a bottle of yakult Support local eateries, particularly this one!
My husband and I wanted to try a new place to eat, and we landed on Mr. Bro. And we're very glad we did! The atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. The staff were fantastic. We loved the seating layout, because it feels intimate without being too crowded, even if every seat is filled. The food was delicious. We tried the Bibimbap with beef, the grilled Mackerel, and the 51cm Beef Tartare sushi. We couldn't help glancing at what other people were ordering, it all looked so good! We will definitely be back. Parking: If there's one drawback, it's the parking! We were lucky and got there early, but if you come later in the evening, get ready to fight for a spot. There were two cars trying to get ours as we left!
We came to this place due to its high reviews. Perhaps hoping to be wowed since we both like Korean cuisine and eat it quite often. To be honest, maybe we needed to try more dishes, but based on the ones we ordered, we felt more let down than impressed. —- Seafood Pancake - 1/5. Very lacklustre, tiny amount of morsels of mini shrimps and I think there was only 2-3 very tiny pieces of squid that looked like it was diced into oblivion. Even the spring green onion was scarce. We were also surprised at the unconventional approach of this place’s seafood pancake - deep fried instead of panfried? The deep fried aspect did not make this dish anymore unique. —- Buckwheat Noodles - 2/5 The aluminium bowl that this dish came in was at least 200% larger than the actual ingredients themselves. Not sure if this was supposed to be an aesthetics notion. The overall dish is edible but ingredients aren’t the best quality in terms of value. Taste was on the bland side. Overall also another dish quite scarce in ingredients. I am starting to wonder at this point has inflation really hit this place that hard? So far the level of execution is Richmond night market level - poor value and mediocre execution. —- Bimbibap - 4/5 The only redeeming dish tonight - and truly depressing if even this dish gets screwed up by Korean restaurant. Taste was good, moderate level of veggies, cheapest beef but the star of this dish was the very hot stone bowl that provided lots of nice crispy rice in the end. —- Will we return? Nope. I eat in Burquitlum’s Korea town quite often and also South Burnaby places and there are much better options out there. PS: Tea taste like water - literally.
I ordered Kimchi okonomiyaki, fried shrimps and Bulgogi pot. The food is very delicious and very clean. If you are looking for a delicious Korean bistro, I highly recommend Mr. Bro. It definitely deserves a detour! The restaurant was very busy, but the servers were very kind. I highly recommend this place and I'll come back
Food was delicious here with exception of one dish!! There’s a bit of a wait to get in as they don’t do reservations. We ordered glass noodles, spicy chicken, black bean rice cake this one sucked, and the grilled beef full order. The prices here are a little on the higher side for the amount of food they give. The black bean rice cake came with the rice cake still hard to chew and the sauce was still congealed. Really sucked because everything else was very tasty. Will definitely come back to try other menu items.
