Motel 6 Weed - Mount Shasta

Inexpensive place to stay. No soap, shampoo or lotion. Cigarette hole in the comforter. Bed was uncomfortable. Room was clean and did not smell. Nice employees! They are very pleasant and helpful. They offer coffee and tea.

We got in late, but the rooms were decent for the one night stay that we had. It was awesome to wake up and see Mt. Shasta in the "back yard". The one ongoing issue I have with Motel 6 is the lack of free internet and/or continental breakfasts. They a cheaper by a little bit compared to competitors. In this particular case the options for hotels in the area of Weed, CA was limited.

We have stayed at this motel several times while traveling to CA and it has been satisfactory. This time we found dog hair (lots of it) all over the fitted sheet in our bed. As you might imagine I was not happy with that discovery. I called the office and was told that she had clean sheets I could pick up. I asked if she really expected me to come get them and she then said she would bring them shortly. She handed me the bedding at the door and left. This whole scenario was so wrong on so many levels that my husband and I immediately decided it would be our last stay at Motel 6. I looked up alternative lodging in Weed and next trip we will give the HiLo Motel a try. When we travel and need an overnight stay, we aren't particularly picky. We need a reasonably priced, clean room and a place to sleep where we can bring our well-behaved dog (who by the way never sleeps in our bed at home or when traveling). We have had a few less than satisfactory experiences at Motel 6 in various locations but as a rule it meets our needs for a short stay. Never have I had a bed where the sheets had not been changed. That is simply a non-negotiable and it will assure we don't stay in another Motel 6. In case anyone wants to know we stayed in Room 129. Had we not been extremely tired from a 12 hour drive and already unpacked in our room and ready for bed, we would have asked for a refund and gone to a different hotel. Under the circumstances we decided to stay and chalked it up to a mistake we won't make again.

Good Price, Clean and quiet rooms. Staff very helpful. Close to highways. Excellent for a couple of nights or overnight stop. Good parking. Bed comfort was average and no hair dryer or coffee Pot. My room was sunny and acceptable. Thank you

It was affordable and clean. Nothing fancy but great for price. Front desk very pleasant. I do wish there was a microwave.
