Parking is impossible.... Extremely limited. Yet they are in the process of building ...
DENTAL Dpt is exemplary... .Professional, friendly treatment, quality equipment, superior overall! .Basic cares thorough and convenient. .Emergency care above and beyond! Literally saving my life treating osteomyelitis after ER failed.
The care that my Father-in-Law who is on the 7th floor at the VA has been exemplary! Everyone has been so kind and friendly, bent over backwards to answer questions or find someone that can, has been willing to accommodate my Father in Laws needs or wants and even the station nurses will say goodnight as you leave. This is the first time I have been to a VA hospital and I will be honest, I was not expecting such quality care. So thankful for this. Keep up the great work in a very challenging job!
Not perfect, but better than most VA hospitals I've been to. I was able to get appointments and prescriptions wothout any difficulty and received great care during ER visits. Anyways, most employees care about their patients and then you have employees there just for a pay check, just like anywhere else.
I always receive excellent medical and psychiatric/psychological care here. The staff and volunteers really care about veterans and their families. I feel so lucky to have access to such an outstanding facility. Thank you!
I had the worst experience at the Milwaukee VA. I believe the staff already made up their mind about me before I was even seen. I addressed it higher and I get an apology that was not sincere. Worst case of professionalism I have experienced!
Excellent care for Veterans, excellent staff. State of the art medical technology. Most excellent Doctors and Nurses. Lifesavers. Thankyou.
How can the Milwaukee VA not be ranked in the top 25? Great care from top to bottom from the medical staff. How come I get such great care 2001 yet many veteran patients go around giving the Milwaukee VA a bad name? Maybe many whom have no real reason for being there "just trying to get something they do not deserve" get called out. My biggest complaint is certain groups of VA employees milling around on the first floor meeting and greeting one another in the halls or in the cafeteria, it's as if there was a family reunion going on, blocking the flow of foot traffic. Shouldn't they be working?
If you’re trying to get a hold of anyone on the phone, have a message returned, or get the pharmacy to deliver your meds on time, good luck with any of that. Their automated system is garbage; they hang up on you while waiting for someone to take your call. Government healthcare folks!
The medical staff treat you with respect and dignity that everyone deserves. Inside the VA exists every clinic you can think of: Primary Care, Emergency Room, Urgent Care, Psychiatry, Cardiac Care, Geriatrics, Hepatology, Neurology, Neuro-Surgery, Neuro-Psychiatry, Blood Draw, Addiction Therapy, a variety of therapies for general and combat related issues. VA Police are also very helpful and curtious; when/if there's an issue they address it swiftly.
The large size, difficult parking, and chaotic neighborhood make for a very stressful experience. I've been approached by drug addicts, pan-handlers, and had my car vandalized in their parking lot. The specialty clinics are difficult to deal with and staff don't always act professional. There is a very adversarial atmosphere there. I hate it. I only go there when absolutely necessary for service related health matters.
