Giving one star because it is the lowest option. I would literally give them -10 stars if I could. I was in there for 3 months and they could never figure out a diagnosis or treatment plan, at the moment of dicharge I was a hot mess and to this day I still have horrible flashbacks if I even need to drive to that part of town. Management and doctors were horrible. I remember some of the nurses that took care of me and they are the only ones I can say were actually making an effort. It is hard to treat people with dignity when you rely on direction and treatment plans from incompetent doctors.

The amount of gross incompetence that we have experienced at this place completely baffles me. Never have I seen a more disorganized s*** show in my entire life. Unfortunately, this POS government facility is where anyone is brought for initial treatment so there is no escaping the complete waste of space that is this facility. If you have a family member at this place, GET THEM AWAY.

This place is horrible. They like to over medicate people they treat patients like they aren't humans. They don't have proper food. Just isn't a good place to be. There are better mental health facilities where, patients are treated with decently.

The reason for my review is a personal experience when I was admitted to this place I felt like I've I was being treated like an animal this place sent me into a deep depression it made it very hard for me to trust others and even trust public officials usually I have a very big respect for the men and women that protect our nation this place in a couple of others made me see things in a different light but it didn't change my optimism that are good men and women that protect our nation that's why I called for a personal welfare check of this entity in a couple more like it not just. For the patients but the staff when I was admitted I felt a very weird tension even fear from the staff point of view as if they were scared of something to be fair some of the staff were respectful but they all still carry that sense of fear it's a very interesting dynamic when it came to the night staff I think it needs to be a overall review on the mental health stability of all parties sincerely I hope that we can work as a community to change these things

Unfortunately I can't give a 0 star. My aunt had been in and out of hospitals for the past 2 months as the psych's kept clearing her. She was brought to Mental Health by police, she informed them she thought she was being poisoned and that witches were putting barnacles in her head. Per their records she asked to stay inpatient, but they told her she did not meet criteria to stay inpatient. After her refusal to leave, the sheriff's deputy dropped her and her walker off at a bus stop within view of Mental Health . She sat on the bus stop from 8:22 am on 3/10/22 until she was found laying on the ground on 3/12/22 at 3:15 am. She ended up with frostbite and legs were literally frozen. After a month in the hospital she died.

I have a son with schizophrenia and a few serious head injuries. The left hand doesn't talk to the right. I think that almost everyone in Milwaukee, including the employees at this entity, must be lead-poisoned, given how stupid, uncritical, incurious, and apathetic they are. They appear to be incapable of engaging in problem solving, and offer stupid solutions such as "if you feel afraid, you should call the police," when I am discussing a seriously ill child who previously attempted to commit suicide by cop in front of my very eyes. Also, they lose paperwork, and then don't offer to straighten out the mistake they made.

My son is there and his staff was polite on the phone and his nurse is a phenomenal women. I never trusted this place because my brother died due to neglect, but; my son? I pray they got this.

The staff at the front desk was so rude and insensitive to the reasonings for my daughters visit. He said there was a long wait time and then questioned whether or not we wanted to wait. This is a highly sensitive matter! For him to just disregard the magnitude of our situation and act as if we were in line for a carnival ride is completely unprofessional for the industry he works in. Yes, I will wait for my daughter to be evaluated by professional so she doesn’t go home and cause any bodily harm or even worse makes an impulsive decisiond all because we didn’t want “to wait in line”. The first impression so far is awful. I have yet to be seen and will wait to express my opinion about the medical staff and program.

I am greatful for the insurance to get the meds and the motel stay. As for the staff on the unit. Ranae told me to shut up. I ask too many questions. The unit staff on both units I was on not all but a most behaved as though they don't realize THEY themself need therapy. They work on edge not trusting of the patients. They are more irritated and suspicious than caring and patient. I felt more like i was being hated and mistrusted than in treatment. I was stabilized aka DRUGGED. I came in with my mental thought and left with them. Not cured but drugged. Mental health needs revamping. Milwaukee County Mental Health needs to review the quality care given by their staff. They do not have a passion for care. They are angry, rude and verbally abusive. It shows in their eyes, faces and voices as well as the care they give. In the end I feel I was treated with mistrust and that I had cooties I don't. For the patients who are not severe, it would help to incorporate activities to find how to help yourself and get out of the web of mental health. I viewed a video of women on youtube who managed to do so. Maybe mental YOU should watch it. The diagnosis was told to my mom that I mumble and see or hear things. I don neither. Security was very professional. I felt they treated you better than the loud pushy uncaring nursing staff mostly black.

Today is April 20th, 2015. I'm here to admit someone to the psychiatric crisis department. I've been standing in the hallway for 45 minutes waiting for someone to even let us into the waiting room I'm told they are working with someone in the back. Is this supposed to mean they only have enough staff to accommodate one person at a time? They can't even let people into the waiting room to keep troubled individuals from having to interact with people walking by in the hallways? This is unacceptable. I shouldn't be standing around or sitting on the hallway floor just to wait for the EMPTY waiting room. Is this indicative of their actual treatment procedures? What if the person I have here is attempting.to harm themself right now?
