Michael's No Frills

This place really does have no frills whatsoever. But I guess I can't dock them a star because they are as advertised. This place is very basic, not aesthetically pleasing and there's no staff to help you. Prices are obviously lower than save on or Safeway. I don't mind shopping here sometimes to get what I need at a lower price. Expect the place to be dirty and dingy. It's definitely for frugal shoppers. No complaints though.

I go to this No Frills every other day for vegetables since it’s within walking distance from my apartment. I always have different experiences with the cashiers and security staff there. I must say, two Filipino ladies and another person who always smiles have consistently made my shopping experience comfortable. Otherwise, many of the employees have strange expressions—not that it’s their fault; it’s just that your inner personality often shows on your face.nand the two young Indian security guards make things uncomfortable. creating an awkward atmosphere. I understand they’re doing their job, but they should do it in a way that doesn’t ruin my shopping experience to the point where I would want to stop visiting this store. stop acting like you are police kids

Bought some Strawberries on Jan 6, 2025. I returned them on Jan 7, 2025, as they were rotten. The supervisor advised me that I could not exchange them without a receipt. I said I could show my Visa receipt and she said no, she needed a paper receipt. The package was returned fully sealed. She said this was a store policy and she could not exchange them.nI subsequently left and went home to review the return policy. I brought her back a copy of the return policy and she more or less refused to review it. The policy states Returns without an Original receipt may be offered for products in its original package, depending on condition of the product and date purchased . Photo ID may be required. The value of the product was about $2.50 and all I wanted was to exchange them. I am a regular customer who goes to the store 2-3 times a day.nWhen I left, she in a condescending manner told me to have a good day.nnShe needs to go back to school and get a better understanding of commerce. To lose a regular customer over a 2.50 transaction she needs to give her head a shake.nnShame on you and your condescending attitude

Want 5 stars? Bring back the free boxes!!!!!nnSell reusable bags, those are useful too but removing the boxes to make sure buying a bag is the only option is a dyck move. Not everyone has the extra couple bucks for a bag. Boxes also offer a better way to contain groceries in back of our car. The bags can still fall over and spill contents. The boxes dont. Bring back the boxes!!!

Racism and profiling. First time shopping here and I noticed after a couple of minutes me and my parter were being followed by a brown dude. We kept shopping and doing our own thing and still he wouldn’t keep his eyes off of us. After awhile I confronted him and it was a dude claiming to be security and saying it was his job. If it was his job he would’ve been properly dressed in uniform standing at the front door didn’t see any ID badge or anything indicating he was security, Unprofessional.nWonder how he got the job to be racist and profile people based on ethnicity. I’m disappointed in this establishment in hiring this unprofessional dude making us feel uncomfortable.
