Not so “Fresh” as the name of the store claims. I ordered some groceries on Instacart today and this is the cheese I received. Is there no quality control at this store? This is actually INSANE that this grocery store has spoiled cheese like this on the shelves. The amount of mold is ridiculous. Of course the Instacart shopper should be checking items before throwing them in the bag, but I believe issues like this should start with the store. They should have employees checking shelves for spoiled and rotten items, and removing them promptly. This is so gross and I hope this store’s management sees this and takes the necessary steps to work on their quality control moving forward.
On December 16th at 9:10 PM, the woman working as an express lane cashier cashier 120 on the receipt was so busy chatting with the male staff member next to her that she didn't even acknowledge when I came to her counter or tell me how much my items cost. She even handed over the receipt while still engaged in conversation with the other employee. She didn't say a word to me or even bother to look at me until I was ready to leave after purchasing my items. It was an extremely unpleasant experience, feeling like I was being treated as if I was invisible. I believe it's basic customer service to stop chatting and focus on the customer until they've finished their transaction, which should be addressed to their employees
I bought sweet potatoes 3 days ago and did not save my receipt. The organic potatoes were spoiled. I took them back to the store and was toldnby the store manager they don’t know if I bought them there, and that I could not get refund . I said go cut the ones at back of store and you will see they are bad. Then I said I spend thousands here a year and will not set foot in this store again if I don’t get refund. He then phoned his boss and got okay for refund. Since when does a manager not have the authority to give a 8.00 refund. This refund took over 15 minutes. I have shopped at this store for many years and since they became Fresh Street they no longer care about their customers . All the years I have been shopping at this store I have returned 2 items. Probably going to stop shopping there the manager saying to me they don’t know if I bought them there ticked me off.
Stepping in at the entrance, I was immediately attracted to the cheerful festive atmosphere of the store IGA, totally forgetting to look for my husband who was busy shopping inside from section to section. The rosy and green stripes overhead, the illuminating lighting, the red theme colour, and the golden headlines of every section, were all giving me a joyful illusion of Christmas!
I ended up with a bag of bad potatoes and it was quite an embarrassing process trying to rectify the situation.nnI was more or less treated like a scammer and a liar and the manager on staff didn't have the authority to replace my rotten food without correspondening with the store owner.nnThis place is a lot more expensive than other local grocery stores, but I shopped here out of convenience. After this experience there is no way I'll ever be back.
