Café Medina is now located in our bright and spacious new home only a few blocks away at 780 Richards Street in Vancouver's Library District.

Story

Since it opened in 2008, Café Medina has been serving up its signature brand of Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, connoisseur-savvy coffee and sweet sustenance via the city’s best Belgian waffles.

A quaint, bistro-styled restaurant replete with old-world charm and proprietor Robbie Kane’s determined philosophy of enlightened hospitality, Café Medina provides a full complement of fresh and eclectic breakfast, lunch and weekend brunch alternatives and a pioneering attitude towards café culture.

In August 2014, Café Medina will move to a bright and spacious new home only a few blocks away at 780 Richards Street in Vancouver's burgeoning Library District under the L'Hermitage sign.

I have heard good things about this place for a while and finally got to try it today.nnPlease please PLEASE do yourself a favour and get the pistachio rose water white hot chocolate! It was immaculate and I couldn’t stop smiling the entire time I was drinking it.nnThe food was delicious - there are many layers of flavours with every bite and the portions are big!nnService is good - the staff are friendly and all seemed very happy to be there.nnThe atmosphere here works. I thought it would be slightly unpleasant sitting closer to other tables but it was actually just fine. There are nice decorations and the place has a modern and tasteful style. If you don’t want to wait outside, there is a place in the back with chairs that seemed a little awkward initially and even slightly humorous but I again didn’t mind this in the end.
The food was fantastic! It had great taste and delightful flavors that pleased all of us.nn- Their lavender latte is delicious, and the hot chocolate is also excellent.n-The waffles are warm, delicious, and absolutely perfect. We especially enjoyed the mixed berry jam and the dark chocolate dips they came with. These are my favorites; you must try them!n-The Fricassée was also excellent, served piping hot.nnIf you find yourself in Vancouver, this restaurant is a must-visit for breakfast or brunch.
We thought this was a pretty good restaurant, although it felt a bit like a chain being inside. By that I mean, it wasn’t necessarily cozy, but wide open and kind of sterile. The food on the other hand was amazing! It tasted great and the flavors were wonderful. We were all very pleased with our meals. The place was nice and clean and they do a really good job of presenting a quality image. The service was really good, and although we had to wait a few times, the server was friendly and helpful. The kids enjoyed their French toast and eggs and bacon. The egg and arugula sandwich was good as was the egg skillet dish. I forgot the name, but like an egg omelette in a personal sized cast iron skillet. We recommend this place.
An excellent place to have brunch! But it may take a really long time to wait in line so come earlier. Their latte with raspberry crème is so good and special which I think is a must try. The waffles are warm and delicious and perfect fits with the berries jam. The downside is the price is relatively higher than others.
This place gets really busy so come early or call in because this place gets packed and there’s always a line outside of the door. With that being said I totally see why so many people come they have great menu items. The food is delicious, the ambiance is nice and the service is attentive too. The avocado toast with the tomato salsa on top was the best I’ve ever had that I wanna have it again, the potatoes with cheese and a aioli to dip them in was also very tasty. I would definitely come here again. Visited March 2024
