Brunch this morning was truly next-level! My friend and I tried the Wolves Breakfast, paella, and those waffles and wow, everything from presentation to flavor was absolutely on point. Now I totally understand why they have a Michelin star.nnIf I had one tiny wish it’d be for slightly bigger portions. But honestly, the taste made up for it.nnThe waffles were the real star fluffy, golden, and elevated by that raspberry compote and passion fruit sauce. Pure magic.nnAnd let’s talk about the coffee… I’m in love. Their brewed coffee was unlimited and so good, we had three cups without even thinking twice.
Café Medina is one of the true gems of downtown Vancouver. By now it seems to be well-known as a go-to spot for breakfast/brunch, as the Liège-style waffles small, hot, fresh, with unique spreads are truly special. The rest of the menu is also fantastic, with a Mediterranean approach to the variety of offerings. The coffee is excellent and served expertly, the presentation is beautiful, and the service is always attentive and prompt.nnIt is worth noting that the restaurant opens at 8 AM and is usually full by 9 AM, with variable wait times for tables depending on the day and the weather. Nonetheless, the place is worth the wait! It is a really excellent establishment with a central location in the city, and is likely to remain iconic for many years to come. Highly recommend a visit when you are in Vancouver; and for everyone who lives there, it’s a place worth trying and knowing about! After having been there several times now, I can say that the quality is consistent and impeccable.
I went to a popular spot for breakfast.nI got there right at 8 when they opened, but it was already super busy.nThe waffles were so chewy and honestly the best I’ve ever had.nThere were tons of topping options too.nWe tried salmon fume and beef in tomato sauce — the flavors were a bit too strong overall, so if you’re into bold flavors, I totally recommend it!
Really cute cafe, packed and quite loud.nGood variety on the menu to choose from. Good service. The mocha with an extra shot of espresso was exceptional.nnI ordered the avocado on toast with fresh fruit. You can tell everything is super fresh. Unfortunately, what stood out was the fruit. The avocado on toast was unseasoned and lacked some heat.nnOverall, although the quality and freshness were good, the food was mid. Would def go back for their coffee.
Cute little place with great atmosphere.nWe knew we found a gem when we got in on Tuesday morning and had a 1/2 hour wait!!nIt was worth every minute!nWe had drip coffee to start which was nice full bodied coffee. My husband had the Tagine & I had the Fricasse. Both were good size orders with lots flavor! Tagine is a little in the spicy side- we loved it, but good to note.nWe also had to try the liege waffles…. Definitely worth it! Salted caramel & milk chocolate lavender sauces to top them… delicious!nThe staff was attentive and friendly.
