If you're looking for an exceptional brunch spot in Vancouver, this restaurant deserves a place at the top of your list. From the moment we walked in, we could tell why it has earned Michelin recognition in 2023, 2024, and 2025. Everything about the experience, from the welcoming atmosphere to the beautifully prepared food, exceeded our expectations. It's one of those places where every detail feels intentional, making it easy to settle in and enjoy a memorable meal.nnWe started with two fresh orange juices and a Medina Iced Tea. The orange juice tasted like it had been squeezed moments before serving, naturally sweet, vibrant, and full of fresh citrus flavor. The Medina Iced Tea was equally impressive, crisp, refreshing, and perfectly balanced without being overly sweet. It was the perfect complement to brunch and something I'd happily order again.nnFor our meal, we ordered the Cassoulet and their signature Fricassee, along with sides of Moroccan Olive Tapenade, Babaganoush, and grilled focaccia. Every single dish was outstanding. The eggs were incredibly fresh with rich, vibrant orange yolks that tasted like they came straight from a local farm. The braised short ribs in the Fricassee were unbelievably tender, practically melting with each bite, while delivering deep, slow-braised flavor that paired beautifully with the caramelized onions, smoked cheddar, roasted potatoes, and peppery arugula. The Medina bacon in the Cassoulet was easily one of the highlights of the meal. Thick-cut, perfectly crisp around the edges while remaining tender inside, it had an incredible smoky richness that elevated every bite. The Andouille sausage and Saucisson de Paris added wonderful depth and spice, while the white beans, tomatoes, and red wine brought everything together into a comforting, hearty dish. The Moroccan Olive Tapenade and Babaganoush were both packed with authentic Mediterranean flavor and paired perfectly with the warm, grilled focaccia, which was crisp on the outside, soft on the inside, and impossible to stop eating.nnThe restaurant itself is just as impressive as the food. The décor strikes a beautiful balance between industrial and vintage, creating an eclectic-chic atmosphere that's both stylish and comfortable. High ceilings, exposed Edison-style light bulbs, textured aged walls, and oversized windows flood the dining room with natural light, making the entire space feel bright, open, and welcoming. The atmosphere was warm and lively without ever feeling noisy, and it was clear that everyone around us was genuinely enjoying their brunch experience.nnLocated right in the heart of downtown Vancouver, it's incredibly convenient and works equally well for a casual family brunch, a date, catching up with friends, or even a business meeting. The service, food, and ambiance all came together to create one of the best brunch experiences we've had. I can absolutely see why this restaurant has received Michelin recognition for three consecutive years. I would recommend it to anyone visiting Vancouver without hesitation. This is a true destination restaurant and one I'll be looking forward to visiting again the next time I'm in the city.
I make sure to visit this place anytime I’m in town. I came here for my birthday brunch and it didn’t disappoint. Our waitress was named Victoria. She was great. The food was delicious and the waffles are a must! I had their espresso martini and it was amazing. Highly recommend.
We always have such a great experience at Coffee Medina. The entire team is incredibly kind and welcoming and it’s honestly my go to spot whenever I have guests visiting because I know they’ll never disappoint.nnToday, Noel took care of us and was absolutely amazing!!! so attentive, friendly and thoughtful throughout our visit. We truly enjoyed everything and really appreciate the effort the team puts into making every experience special.nnThe coffees are amazing, the waffles are so good and don’t forget to try the Wolves Breakfast ‍ definitely one of our favorites! We had to wait a bit for a table but it was absolutely worth it.nnOne small tip: if you prefer your coffee hot, just order it extra hot, since I personally found it not hot enough during my first few visits.nnBig thanks to the whole team for consistently making every visit such a great experience! videos are from different visits since I didn’t take any today
Cafe Medina is such a cozy and lively spot. We came for lunch as a group of four and waited about 30 minutes, which gave us confidence the food would be good. The dim lighting on a rainy day made the space feel extra inviting and everything looked very clean.nnWe ordered the Belgian waffle with milk chocolate lavender, fricassée, Tagine, Paella, and a Lavender Latte and Chai Latte. Every dish was delicious. The fricassée was the highlight and the waffle had the strongest lavender flavor I have ever tasted. They make their sauces in house and you can really tell. The sunny side up eggs were perfect and showed real skill. Portions were just right and everything tasted fresh.nnService was great and the staff checked on us often. It can get loud and space is tight so strollers might be tricky, but overall this is one of the best breakfast and lunch spots I have visited. I would happily return every time I am in Vancouver.
If you have never been, don't! They are too good to share. The food was so amazing. The service was warm and genuine. And the atmosphere had just enough kitsch without being cliche.nnOur table had the salmon fume, fricassee, and les boulettes, along with some wonderful lattes. We tried thier liege waffles and yes, the are worth the hype and need no toppings.nnWould I come back here? 100% yes!
