Two of the hardest working people I know own this family run Business. You will not be disappointed. Great food great deck in the summer. And here’s the heads up. Only place in town that has a parking lot. If you go tell Benny Jeff sent you. Cannot be beat. Trust me
Marinella’s is a wonderful and authentic family-owned and operated Italian restaurant. Fabulous food, stellar drinks and wine, easy parking, one of Glen Ellyn’s best places to eat. We love this place, the food, and the people. Highly recommend! The very best fair weather patio in the western suburbs.
I took my folks here for dinner last night for an early Father's Day celebration since this is our favorite Italian restaurant. We have been loyal Marinella's fans for at least 30 years now and have followed them through 3 locations, and stuck with them since their change in ownership. Last night was just wonderful! They have a great patio area with ivy and fairy lights- and of course Italian themed music Sinatra, Dean Martin, some Pavarotti. The baked clams are a MUST, I've had these many places but these are the best! The tortellini soup was also very good! I had the Pollo Picante which was excellent and came with a small side of pasta with red sauce! My folks both had pasta, Mom had calamari, Dad had shrimp. The food is excellent, flavorful, and the portions are large enough that I will have another full meal from the left overs. We split 2 pieces of tiramisu which was, naturally, delicious. Service was good, and the owner checked on us several times. If you live in the area you really should give this place a try for some amazing homemade Italian food!
Very quaint Italian restaurant. Family owned and it shows in the food and service. Staff were so kind and attentive and everything we ate made you feel like you were eating an amazing home-cooked meal. Highly recommend!Food: 5/5
This is a do not miss restaurant in Glen Ellyn. I have been here many times, and everything is always delicious. The family who runs the restaurant are friendly, accommodating and work to constantly improve thier business. The restaurant has a wide selection of entrees, specialties and wines. Never rushed through your meal, service is professional, helpful and responsive. Entrees come with soup or salad, and don't forget dessert. Limoncello cake is a crowd favorite. Ideal place for a family meal or meal with friends. They also cater! Think about them for the holidays or you special events.
Absolutely worth it! I’ve been here a few times now... The food is fresh and delicious, and the staff is so friendly. I also enjoy their house wine, so it’s a win all around. Save room for dessert, too! This summer my family got to enjoy their cute, little patio.
Marinellas is a place where you go, and you are treated as if they've known you for a lifetime. The staff are tremendously courteous, knowledgeable, and always there when you need something. The outdoor patio space is one of the best hidden gems in Glen Ellyn, as you have all the benefits of eating outdoors in beautiful downtown Glen Ellyn, without all the traffic, noise and commotion of main Street. On our last dining experience, we were floored by the salmon cake with its citrus glaze sauce. The panko breadcrumbs were crisp and firm yet perfectly light enough to not feel overwhelming bready. Cheese ravioli's are always a favorite, and the caprisi salad is filled with everything a caprisi should be. The balsamic is top notch too. Can't say enough good things about Marinellas, and after you spend a meal there, I don't think you'll be able to either.
My husband and I wanted to plan a date to have Italian food this past summer. Both of us work late, so we wanted to find an Italian place in our area open past 9 pm. We ended up Googling Marinella's and decided to give it a try. We thought, it's Glen Ellyn, so it should be more sophisticated with tasty food and fine service, right? We were seated on the patio since it was warm outside, and we were offered some wine selections which we definitely did not reject! The waiter was incredibly hilarious and friendly, and I could tell by the atmosphere and the tables around us that everyone was having a good time in their groups and enjoying their wine. The drawback was that it did take a while for our food to come out, maybe around 30 minutes. My husband ordered the Fetuccini Alfredo, and I ordered the Rotolo Primavera. Each plate cost at this time over $20 each. The flavor of the food was surprisingly bland perhaps it is the preference for the area they are in?. I could not taste any flavor of marinara sauce, and my husband was shocked that the alfredo sauce was also bland and flavorless. It was as if the chef did not add any herbs or spices, or even salt or pepper in the sauces! I really hoped to be a consistent customer of this restaurant, but because of the food, unfortunately, I am a "one and done" customer. I recommend this place if you want to have drinks or wine with friends, but be wary of the food, unless they have improved the taste and consistency of their recipes in recent times. Parking: Plenty of free parking

Marinella’s is a hidden gem in the west suburbs! Great service, wine selection and featured entrees. Having been to Italy, this place takes us back every time we dine here.
