Story

Making Waves Swim School has been providing award winning water safety programs for children and adults of all ages since 1994.

At Making Waves, you will find an energetic, talented group of people dedicated to the success of each and every child in their swim program. Co-owners, Stephanie and Tiernan Murphy and their passionate staff offer aquatic programming very different from what you might find at your neighbourhood recreation centre. The teaching method at Making Waves is unique in its ‘hand-on’ approach at every level. Swim classes are both fun and challenging and the caring, animated staff will keep your child smiling and safe!

One of the best places to take your kids to learn swimming. I am totally grateful to Fina for her exceptional dedication in teaching my son, Chibu, to swim. She is an amazing coach that focuses meticulously on your child’s progress. She is kind, patient and understanding and her aura says it all. My son was very comfortable and relaxed during his sessions which made him progress significantly. Thank you so much, Fina. You are the BEST!!!

We have been very happy with Making Waves. Our daughter attended community swim lessons a couple of times but wasn't able to learn much. Making Waves it a big step-up from your average swimming class.nnWhen we joined Making Waves, for the first two classes she was crying non-stop. But Braydonhead coach persisted getting her comfortable every minute. From the third class on she was comfortable with the teacher/environment and knew that there isn't any escape.nFrom third class on, the actual learning started and within the next 3 classes she was able to level up to Little waves 3, showing marked improvement in her confidence, back and front floats and kicks. Miss Maya did a very fine job with her.

Took adult swim lessons here after deciding I couldn’t let my fear of water control my life.  This place has a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere.  Coach Sarah H. was absolutely amazing…she paid close attention to every students’ abilities or lack thereof, in my case and built on those skills with constant encouragement and constructive feedback.  Sarah had confidence in her students even when they could not see it in themselves, and gave a little push where needed to get us to grow and improve.  Highly recommend!

We have been at the Brampton location for many years and the experience has been positive with coaches and management. We receive adequate feedback and reviews of our swimmer's performance and he has worked well with all of his coaches since he was 2. My continued feedback has been to improve on the cleanliness of the facility. Given the nature of the facility we appreciate it requires continuous monitoring to ensure the change rooms are tidy.
