My mother was at Maimonides for 3.5 months prior to her death. No place is perfect, and sometimes it took quite a long time to get assistance from the staff. However, in general, the staff is kind, caring, competent and involved, including PAB's, LPN's, RN'S, dietitian thanks!, occupational therapist. The housekeeping staff was friendly and supportive to my dad, who visited every day. There are lots of concerts, activities, outings and a nice, large outdoor area. My mother had a single room, that was spacious, bright and comfortable. The double rooms appeared spacious as well. The dining areas are also spacious and bright, with large windows. There's a reasonably priced cafeteria and a coffee shop, that serves good food. There's a hairdresser, who did a very nice job with my mother. The parking is free. While the doctor sees patients once/week, when she was needed, towards the end, she was available right away by phone, and provided excellent and compassionate medical directives. A special shout out to nurses Myra, Rachel and Wella, who were supportive to me and a huge help for keeping my mother comfortable during her final days.nnIf you are reading this and wondering if Maimonides would be a good place for your loved one, my opinion is yes.
My dad has been to a few chsld over the years due to his disability and i find that this place is the best. My father is happy to be there. He is always clean changed in new clothes. They also have lots of activities going on in and outside of the building. The workers are kind, patient, attentive to his needs and always putting a smile on his face. I can see they really try hard with the residence even the difficult ones.
Most of the staff is conscientious and caring. They are very hierarchical so an RN won't clean up a patient in the toilet. It can be difficult if you don't know who is who or there aren't any of the ones you need at the time. The food is good and they have good social events
What can I say? It's a place that nobody wants to be in. The care is ok, but many rooms are 2 patients per room, and you have to be lucky to get a good roommate. The place is reasonably modern and for the most part, the staff is pleasant.
It's a big facilitie lots of levels, it's relatively clean the issue with this place is the lack of personnels for the amounts of residents thanks for the help of the benevol that helps a lots still it's not enough for the patients needs most of the residents are in wheelchair and are limited on been able to take care of them self most of them wear diaper the issue is not the diaper but the time the patients stay with that dirty diaper leading to infections knowing most of the patients have only one shower a week sometime 2 if you insist, the patient's are left in the hallway with no daily activity. This place looks good on the outside I'm sure somehow with the help of the community with there time or donations to help have more staff to take care of the patients this place can look good on the inside to.
