Ended up in emergency and waited for secondary triage longer than I should have based on my condition and what I could see was wrong with others. After almost fainting I was brought through to a hallway bed, given meds quickly and seen by several staff. Got a CT scan, the issue was identified and I was put on list for urgent surgery. The staff were fantastic to me, a non French speaker. So kind, and doing their best talk English. I can’t say enough how comforting they were to me. 5 stars for the staff. The hospital was clean, the room was well equipped. The food, well, it was hospital food. Thank you CHUM.
I was so lucky to be dropped off at CHUM hospital, I was in a very bad condition they accepted me although I only have an Ontario health card, not a RAMQ card and that was so nice of them, I waited for about 6 hours to be examined and was about to get upset but as soon as I was called in for the examination they did all kinds of tests and procedures and found the root cause to the issue that would require surgery, apparently everyone that works at this hospital is super nice, polite and kind, they all love to help with a big smile on their faces. They did set my operation for the next day and now I'm on my next day of the operation still in the hospital sitting on the bed alive putting my feedback on how good this place is.nIt might not be the same experience with someone else but I'm pretty sure they are doing they're best to help each and everyone.nThank you so much CHUM I'm so grateful and happy to be treated by kind people like.
The first time we had an appointment for my mother, we arrived only to be told there was no record of it. Despite being certain of the date, they insisted it was our mistake. I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt and requested a confirmation letter for future appointments. For the second time, on October 17th, we had written proof of an appointment. After driving over an hour to get there, we were told the appointment had been canceled at the last minute, with no prior notification. The healthcare system in this city is incredibly poor. Once again, they blamed us, and the staff showed no accountability. It feels like they are disregarding both our time and health.
Bit late, but last year, I had a road accident where I hit my head on pavement and tore all my muscles in my left shoulder and armi couldnt move it anymore, and I was bleeding from the head and arms.nWhen I did the accident, I also had chest pain and thought I had broken ribs, broken arms, etc... The paramedics thought I had a concussion, so at the hospital, the nurses did a small checkup on me to see if I took the shot for tetanus, etc... This is all good until this point.nnBut then I had to wait 10 hours in the ER, with the occasional nurse checking on me within the first hours due to my head bleeding and the potential concussion. The 10 hours wasn't nice, but I'll let it pass because there were a lot of people, especially drunk people complaining non-stop to the staff and annoying them.nnMy main criticism is with the doctor who checked on me. He did the normal procedure to see if I was fine and made me take an X-ray to see if bones were broken. Luckily, no bones were broken.nThe doctor, at the end, assessed that my arm/shoulder should heal in 2 weeks, despite the fact that my shoulder was clearly unable to move due to extreem pain and badly torn muscles/tendons, he told me if it's not healed by then, check a doctor.nnIt actually took 3 months for my left arm to gain full range of motion and 1 year to fully heal. Why don't they take ultrasound to also check if the tendons are torn for a potential torn rotator cuff? Instead of just checking for broken bones and telling you to check a doctor, if in 2 weeks, you're not good. It would have saved months of headaches. Is it because it's time-consuming? Costly? The hospital lacks a machine?nnPs. Yes, I checked with a doctor after 2 weeks. No luck there.
Very bad service, I waited 16 hour's, Emergency personnel take up to 4 breaks every 2 hours, Nobody gives you clear information about how long you will be waiting in pain, very bad experience, I do not recommend that you come to the emergency room, the staff is very poor
