Incredible view from the bridge. If you are afraid of heights I recommend you just try to focus on the path ahead of you and dodging cyclists bombing down the bridge on the downhill. If you are walking north, take the west side of the bridge and the east side if walking to Stanley Park. I repeat, please watch out for cyclists as some of them like to go quite fast and the walkway is not super wide. Also make sure to hold onto your phone because there is a large gap between the walking surface and the railing.
Really amazing bridge right here in Vancouver; worth crossing. We actually walked across from Stanley Park to North Vancouver, it did take some time but the views are incredible and worth seeing. Highly recommend seeing around the bridge as well, whether it be on the seawalk trails or similar. Might get difficult on a windy or rainy day, as it really kicks up - so make sure to be prepared!
I was a first time visitor to Vancouver and biking over the bridge was absolutely phenomenal!!! I had such a gratifying moment as I was cycling up the bridge because of all the cars so close and loud, the inner jitters of literally because so up high above the water and the adrenaline of being on an uphill climb that started in Stanley park. You get some great views of the city on q sunny day!! My husband and I biked all the way to quays market for a beer I would totally recommend for everyone!!
In terms of a landmark, it looks nice as standing between sea and mountain. In terms of a transportation infrastructure, it’s far from the ideal, easily causing traffic jam due to small number of lanes.
Great view of Vancouver Bay and region. The bridge itself is great, but is much better when visited in the afternoon when the sun light reflects on the water. Very beautiful bridge!! If you have time, you could walk on the bridge and the spectacular view will come to your eyes!!Construction is very stylish and lights up quite beautifully at night. I feel very safe when Crossing Lions Gate bridge.
This was a fun bridge to cycle across to North Van and back; however, it is not a bridge you want to cycle on if you are scared of heights as you are cycling on a pretty narrow path at the edge next to fast moving cars. The uphill climb to get onto the bridge from the Stanley Park side is well worth the speedy descent at the end of your trip. There are plenty of places you can stop briefly on the bridge to take photos on the side. Signage could be improved for those using the bridge to sightseeing than commuting as the signage after you exit the bridge on the North Van side on how to return to Stanley Park is poor.
Vancouver is the center of all the needed change. Every part of this beautiful city is a reminder of creation, renovation and the amazing combination of modern world and the pure nature.
Spectacular view from the Lion's gate bridge. You can take a walk there and enjoy the view. You need to be careful about the bike lane specially after sunset.
A historic bridge, worth checking out. At the right time of day, with the right light, you’re in for some spectacular views. If your facing north on the bridge, you’ll see the two mountain peaks that the bridge is named after…just ask some NShore locals where the “Lions” are and they will point you in the right direction. Opened in 1938 this is one of the main arteries off, or onto the NShore - getting the timing right on the alternating lanes is an art form many commuters will tell you about. As is the zipper merging technique many young drivers are forced to master.
Nice view from here but might not be for the fainthearted. Nice long walk whenever you have lots of time.
