Stanley park is one of the prettiest park I have ever been. It’s so clean and peace! Really close to the city center and chill.
One of Stanley Parks first memorials. Dedicated to the fallen heroes of WW1/WW2/Korean and the Afghanistan war. It also pays tribute to the Japanese Battalion of 227 fearless warriors who served Canada during WW1. They volunteered and traveled on their own expense to be trained as soldiers, regardless of the poor treatment they endured from the Canadian government. These heroic Japanese soldiers played an important role in Vimy Ridge and many other vital victories.Their sacrifices were awarded with many military medals including the St George Cross. The stunning Japanese Sakura trees line the pathway leading up to the stone monument and during the spring the air is filled with nature's perfumes. Designed by James A Benzie, sculpted by Master stone masons Keast and Allan. Unveiled in April 1920.
Very nice memorial located in Stanley park - worth a walk through the grounds to find
Tranquil and beautiful memorial in Stanley Park
Japanese Sakura trees around this monument are the best in Vancouver. White with many beautiful petals. A must go for hanami and picture taking.
Well designed, small but reflecting Japanese culture value well.
I love all different parts of Stanley park. Including this spot.
Very moving and beautiful.
Great place for picnic. Watch out for those Goose Poop
Was just a bit disappointed to see cherry blossom was gone.
