Story

We are the Lighthouse Motel, one of only a few remaining drive-in motels in Nova Scotia. We offer clean, comfortable, affordable accommodation on the beautiful Lighthouse Route (of course) in South Western Nova Scotia. We have 14 rooms including three waterfront rentals (separate from the motel complex) which hug the banks of the LaHave River, near the town of Bridgewater (see our cover photo). We hope you will join for weekend getaway or extended vacation. We think you will love our motel and this spectacular region of the province!

Fantastic place!!! The rooms are clean, spacious and bright, we had the "drive up double suite" with a kitchen area. Mike, the owner of the hotel was very kind and knowledgeable, he was ready with a list of restaurants in the area as well as directions. The restaurants we ate at were wonderful! Being on the river there is an expanse of lawn, rocky beach and a dock to enjoy. It's nice to sit back in the Adirondack chairs and watch the boats go by after a long day of traveling. In addition there is a fire pit that you are welcome to use and a kids play area. The entire staff is friendly and happy to offer any assistance and information of the area. This was our first stay and I would definitely go back again.

Very quiet and comfy place. We had a beautiful view of the water. There is a fire pit on the property witch is very nice on those cool nights. The only problem was that I get up early. And when I went to the bathroom in the morning, there were about 25 bugs crawling around on the floor. Yuck!!!!!

Love the homey touches in the rooms. Comfy bed. Owner was very friendly and offered suggestions for meals. Traveling for work but would be a nice place to stay and enjoy the beautiful waterfront views. Great value and would stay here again.

Adorable rooms!! They bring in the small details to make it feel more homey. :) Marc, the owner, discovered we were both going on the Bluenose cruise together at the same time and gave us a complimentary upgrade. Excellent customer service and very accommodating overall.

If you are travelling to Lunenburg, NS or surrounding area you should definitely stay here. The owner is very welcoming and kind and gave us the inside scoop on local eateries and attractions. The cottage was perfectly cleaned and incredibly spacious and the view is incredible. This is a wonderful spot to stay and has everything you could possibly need.
